U.S. Pension Investments group is responsible for the management of Citi’s U.S. Defined Benefit ($12 billion) and 401(k) Plans’ ($20 billion). The group performs investment research across multiple asset classes and implements the manager selection, investment monitoring and quantitative analysis on the investment strategies.  The group presents to Citigroup’s internal defined benefit and defined contribution investment committees on a quarterly basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Senior Investment Officer (SIO) to manage and invest the assets of the U.S. defined benefit and 401k plans
  • Balances long-term strategic goals with short-term performance objectives to outperform return benchmarks
  • Monitor the various portfolio holdings and conduct periodic portfolio analysis at the direction of the SIO
  • Monitor and review specific investment manager guidelines
  • Conducts portfolio analysis using risk tools and analytical tools
  • Assist with equity and fixed income investment recommendations to achieve the objective of achieving stable excess returns versus the benchmark consistent with allocated risk budget, approved investment guidelines, and other limits
  • Presents and discusses investment recommendations to the Senior Investment Officer
  • Assists in the preparation of reports accurately and timely to the pension and 401k plan investment committees
  • Prepare performance review periodically and supports the Senior Investment Officer in the quarterly performance reviews
  • Assists with analysis and presentations to support the quarterly exposure review meetings

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Finance
  • Must have advanced analytical skills but also the ability to see the big picture
  • Excellent communication skills are imperative i.e. ability to make complex subjects easily digestible for senior management
  • Exercises proven Power Point and Excel skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to interact with all levels of management Must be a team player

Education:

  • Undergraduate university degree in Finance, Economics or related field is required. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or equivalent is desirable
