The Regulatory Solutions Group SVP is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Business in key policy adherence and monitoring.
  • Ability to quickly analyze a problem. Previous experience engaging with Risk, Finance, Operations and Business partners.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle and regulatory expectations; Fixed Income, Secured Financing Products, Equities, OTC derivatives, capital, etc
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in driving results and an understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Individual must be analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must.
  • A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently.
  • This individual must be a highly capable written and verbal communicator, and will be required to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from a number of sources.
  • Ability to gain consensus and agreement across many disparate functions, products and geographies.
  • Must have ability to stay ahead in a constantly changing environment and serve as an agent for change, ensuring others understand current direction.
  • Aptitude to translate strategy into execution in a complex and cross-functional organization.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Master’s degree is preferred

The Collateral Global Process Owner (“GPO”) is responsible for developing, implementing and owning standards and practices governing Citi’s collateral processes and ensuring that effective BAU procedures are operative. The GPO has full accountability for transforming the existing collateral control processes across Citi and all types of physical and financial collateral through a combination of program redesign, shared services integration, data/content standardization and technology enhancement/automation. To be successful, the GPO must partner with individuals across Citi’s business lines, Global Functions including Operations & Technology as well as other GPOs and those involved with Risk Management Transformation efforts.
The Business Risk Senior Officer I will join the Regulatory Solutions Group (RSG) team, within the Citi Institutional Client Group (ICG), and report to the manager of the RSG and/or chairperson of the Liquid and Readily Marketable Technical Advisory Group (LRM-TAG). Citi has established a technical advisory group (“TAG”) to administer the on-going process for evaluating whether securities collateral accepted by the firm is liquid and readily marketable (“LRM”). The TAG is the primary governance forum for this topic and acts as supporting review and expert input supporting control to Citi’s overall collateral control framework.
The TAG brings together a broad group of expert constituents (market risk, business, finance, treasury etc.) In addition to the Collateral GPO responsibilities described above, this role will be expected to obtain and prepare the technical materials that are to be used in the TAG review process; to coordinate and facilitate the debate and evolution of the firm’s LRM framework; to memorialize and communicate the effects to internal (first, second, third line of control) staff, regulators and industry groups; and to constantly refresh the LRM process and inputs.

The key function of the GPO is the continued strengthening and enforcement of high-quality processes, controls, and governance as they relate to Collateral. To be successful, this individual will be expected to understand and influence the peer disciplines involved in the Collateral life cycle. 

  • This individual must be fluent in Citi’s product offerings, mechanics of the markets in which these products are offered (central clearing platforms etc.), Citi’s competitive landscape, governance expectations and the financial services legal and regulatory environment. 
  • This individual understands trading/risk management of Equities (ETFs, Indices, single names), Fixed Income (Government, Corporate, Muni) securities, and derivatives
  • This individual must be a highly capable written and verbal communicator, and will be required to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from a number of internal and external sources, each of which may make heavy use of industry jargon. 
  • This individual must be able to manage a number of different work streams simultaneously, and is expected to communicate the progress of each in an organized and understandable manner. 
  • This individual must be able to manage a number of different constituents and relationship types, including peers from within and those outside of their own team, senior executives, regulators, internal and external audit.  
  • This individual must understand and be able to enforce the tenets of a streamlined and effective multi-disciplinary process, which may include the design and initial implementation of such processes. 
  • This individual must be able to design, implement, evaluate, and amend controls, including those that are not operated by Citi Finance.
