Head of Product – Wholesale Lending Transformation – C16 Managing Director

Institutional Credit Management at Citi is seeking a transformational leader to drive the strategy and implementation of the Wholesale Credit Technology Platform at Citi. By joining this team, you will lead the transformation efforts to advance next-generation technology supporting institutional banking, helping Citi finance and manage some of the largest transactions in the world efficiently and safely. Our team works across all areas of the business, including banking, risk, operations, and technology, for products spanning investment banking, commercial real estate, trade services, private banking, and commercial loans.  This is an opportunity to partner with some of the top leaders in the business and drive change across a global organization.

We are seeking an experienced Product Leader to refine and execute strategy across platforms and businesses, both building out greenfield capabilities and transitioning existing to the future state. In this role you will lead a team of experienced Product Managers who work closely with each of our client facing business lines, underwriting, risk management, operations, and technology. You will constantly balance the immediate needs of the franchise with the ultimate goals of our strategic architecture and overall enterprise strategy. You will act as a product owner, responsible for the full execution of your initiatives, from identification, through design, acceptance, and implementation. You will seek to reduce ongoing development in legacy applications while driving solutions for the strategic end state.  You will be supported by the partnership of our leadership team and the surrounding wholesale lending franchise.

This role requires close coordination and understanding of Credit Risk and lending processes, the changing regulatory landscape, policy implications, and data remediation concerns. You will create and present executive level communications and plans which express the strategy and progress for regulators, senior leadership, and the user community. You will be responsible for ensuring that your strategy meets the ongoing obligations of the firm while enabling Citi to meet the objectives of the future state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of the implementation of our strategic wholesale credit platform and end to end lending infrastructure.
  • Advance and promote the strategic goals and progress of the program, raising awareness and understanding among senior leadership and the user community.
  • Direct and connect strategic initiatives for Wholesale Lending, working across business lines and functional areas to achieve business and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage the suite of both strategic and legacy applications which support wholesale lending at Citi. Determine the most critical projects and the path to reduce legacy dependencies.
  • Oversee the implementation of Loan IQ and the retirement of current loan product processors.
  • Differentiate between required and resolvable process or feature conflicts to achieve efficient and centralized solutions.
  • Dig into details on problem statements, assess current capabilities and strategic goals to advise teams on optimal path forward.
  • Define and follow rigorous governance procedures to maintain clear records and rationale for design decisions.
  • Lead a team of senior product managers who are designing and executing transformation initiatives. 

Business Role Requirements:

  • At least 10 + years of Product Management or experience for a financial or other regulated institution
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience in wholesale credit, Risk Management, Banking, or Operational capacity.
  • History of partnering closely with technology to drive change in an organization
  • Experience in executing significant strategic projects or software implementations for a large organization
  • Experience in defining controls or implementing policy changes
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale lending products
  • BA/BS required. MBA/MS preferred
