Job Description

The Head of Acquisition Strategy and Operations, is a member of the Acquisition Leadership team  who will drive acquisition growth for the customer base across Citi cards proprietary portfolio. The Head of Acquisition Strategy and Operations manages multiple teams to deliver line of business objectives.

This leader will manage a cross-functional team to help accelerate the

velocity in acquisition and deliver business growth.  This reports to  the Head of U.S. Consumer Marketing Acquisitions and Digital Sales, leading business management for 140 person organization, strategic business initiatives, PMO, control and operational improvements. driving critical routines, structure and culture for the team.

The ideal candidate is a visionary marketing leader who has experience creating, communicating, and executing acquisition programs across paid and owned media. The role will work closely with all product and functional partners to ensure the acquisition plan is aligned to business objectives and delivers with strong compliance and controls.   This individual will be responsible for providing updates on key business metrics and collaborating with C-Suite executives to deliver on business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business management and strategic projects for acquisitions, examples include new credit card pricing strategies, cost savings across marketing channels
  • Provide thought leadership in developing new growth solutions and solving complex problems within the organization.  Drive cross-consumer strategic initiatives and revenue transformation opportunities, partnering with various stakeholders across the U.S. Consumer Bank to influence change and implement
  • Articulation vision, execution progress and results of Digital Transformation for critical senior leadership presentations, transforming quantitative and qualitative information into comprehensive and highly visual presentations

  • Lead acquisition investment optimization, forecasting for new accounts, marketing expense and contra revenue management

Lead proprietary cards Acquisition strategy end to end: align to portfolio objectives, develop test and learn agenda, pricing and messaging strategies across channels and own driving cross channel performance

  • Own Cards Acquisition disclosure oversight with goals to develop standardization, introduce automation and improve ongoing control execution
  • Lead audit/exam responses, control improvements, ensure team compliance with control execution requirements and third party management processes
  • Champion a culture of risk and controls of ownership and accountability inclusive of breaking down silos
  • Deliver operational improvements to enhance team efficiencies
  • Develop operating models to create alignment and effective execution across teams.
  • Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in financial services or Fintech leading strategy and execution, including 5+ years of managerial experience directly managing high-performing teams with demonstrable and measurable sales results
  • Experience developing, managing and refining KPIs and reporting through organizational scorecards

  • Project and program management experience that includes successful delivery of large, complex programs with experience, spanning both business process and technology solutions
  • Ability to craft messages for audiences all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think strategically and come up with out of the box ideas/solutions
  • Must have ability to lead large teams both directly and through influence, be resourceful  and also drive collaboration across an organization
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive results, identify opportunities, priorities and build routines and rigor to drive executional excellence
  • Strong communication and strategic storytelling skills and ability to lead and coach a team to do the same leveraging collaboration and presentation tools (ie. PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Deep Financial Services product knowledge, and passion around emerging technologies and impact they make on customer experiences

Education

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
