The Markets Analyst is a senior level position responsible for overseeing business analysis, in coordination with the Sales and Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to optimize broad based financial metrics that impact the Rates business, with a focus on capital and expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Aggregate and process large amounts of internal and external financial data to direct management decisions
  • Define metrics with partners to be distributed to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Perform innovative analysis and research to evaluate broad based performance
  • Identify outliers within the financials and conduct independent investigation into causes and meaning
  • Determine practical financial optimization strategies
  • Take action on strategies identified, either by implementation with trading or sales desks, or by managing projects with broader internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with finance, expense management, technology, operations and other partners to drive financial optimization
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in a related role
  • Ability to utilize programming/query languages such as Python, SQL, KDB+ and keen desire to improve such skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage own projects, independently identify issues and drive practical solutions
  • Understanding of accounting concepts such as the income statement, balance sheet, capital preferred
  • Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across geographic locations and differing levels of seniority
  • Ability to work with data from variety of sources
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage to deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree, MBA or professional qualification (accountancy or CFA) preferred
