Citi is optimizing its relationship structure with the Global Networks, Mastercard and Visa, to realize a fully integrated global delivery model with technology at its core, where data and analytics, marketing and product all work in concert on the network platform goals of the company to deliver a remarkable customer experience.

To help us continue on this journey, the Networks Team is looking for an SVP of Global Payments Marketing to lead evaluation, sizing, and integration of marketing, advertising, research and sponsorship solutions with Visa and Mastercard that will transform and grow the Global Consumer Bank.

The Role

The SVP of Global Payments Marketing will report to the Head of Network Marketing Solutions, and will be responsible for executing marketing deliverables that are complex and cross-functional in nature in addition to managing a global fund to grow business performance through Network marketing assets and solutions.  This hire will develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders, Visa, and Mastercard partners globally. This individual will closely collaborate with Visa and Mastercard partners to leverage and co-create marketing initiatives and strategic growth opportunities, delivering measurable and mutually beneficial business outcomes.

The hire will develop actionable marketing proposals by leveraging assets from Visa and Mastercard, including research, data insights, payments trends, brand and sponsorship assets, creative development, digital marketing solutions, and global best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Accomplished and experienced financial services or payments professional with 8+ years of relevant experience and a proven track record of successful revenue-generating marketing partnerships, creative deal making, and effective partnership management

  • Proficient understanding of digital payments and commerce, retail banking, digital wallets, credit card portfolios, and marketing channels

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and the ability to structure and execute business initiatives, lead analysis, and communicate final recommendations for growing marketing partner relationships

  • Develop systematic procedures in support of the identification, engagement, and development of strategic partnerships.

  • Partner with business leaders to translate opportunities into growth initiatives and ensure marketing initiatives and ideas fit forward-looking plans

  • Develop and present reporting that tracks against key KPIs and evaluate performance to recommend improvements

  • Continuously review competitive landscape and identify partnership opportunities that will continuously position Citi as the market leader

  • Align with cross-functional teams on key initiatives including representation from legal, marketing, product, operations, technologies, and finance.

  • Ability to perform responsibilities with autonomy, while excelling in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Engage with external Visa and Mastercard partners in a systematic and strategic manner to maintain and strengthen the relationships globally

  • A self-starter with the ability to manage concurrent and time sensitive projects focused on results

  • Ability to listen well, contribute to creative business discussions, influence and lead by example

  • Experience managing up and strong executive level communications, both verbal and presentations

  • Proven track record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies, and operational decisions

  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, ability to multi-task, and flexible mindset

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and with a sense of urgency

  • Effectively prioritize projects and meet aggressive, recurring deadlines with a strong bias for action

  • Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Power Point

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, marketing, or economics

  • MBA preferred
