Global Head of Employee Relations & HR Policy

The Global Head of the Employee Relations and HR Policy will lead a newly established global team of approximately 100 Human Resources professionals who provide global management of complex employment-related concerns, a specialized investigative function, and strategic design and delivery of HR policies. The role includes the following major areas of responsibility:
Global Management of Employment-Related Concerns
Responsible for the investigation and resolution of complex employment-related concerns in Citi’s North America, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA regions, including concerns raised through Citi’s Employee Hotline, other escalation channels, or local grievance procedures.
Provides global tracking of employment-related escalations, as well as stakeholder, senior management, and Board reporting, including trend data and thematic analyses used to drive enhancements to Citi’s culture and work environment.
Develops globally consistent investigation standards and protocols.
Partners with Employment Law/Legal, Citi’s Ethics Office, Citi Security & Investigative Services, and Independent Compliance Risk Management in the resolution of employment-related concerns that cross escalation channels.
Drives the appropriate link between conduct and performance/compensation, ensuring that substantiated matters are handled in accordance with Citi’s Global Disciplinary Review Policy, and applicable local procedures, as well as Citi’s Accountability Framework.
Participates in a range of initiatives, audits and regulatory exams involving investigations and escalation of concerns which includes direct engagement with regulators
Works with the Employment Law and other members of Citi’s Legal team in the investigation of and response to agency charges and litigation.
Plays a key role in the adjudication of disputes arising under the U.S. Separation Pay Plan
Responsible for the governance of global HR policies (including employee handbooks) working in conjunction with stakeholders across HR.
Drives harmonization of global HR policies.
Provides strategic vision in the development of HR policies to enhance culture, diversity, engagement, and retention of talent.
Guides the interpretation and application of HR policy
Represents Human Resources on the Global Citi Policy Committee and partners with the Citi Ethics Office on Code of Conduct, Code of Conduct training and other initiatives
Works closely with the HR OpCo, HRPS, HR Control and Compliance, Corporate Benefits, Global Public Affairs, Legal, Audit, and other members of senior management in the delivery of Employee Relations and HR policy
15+ plus years in Human Resources or related area (such as Employment Law), including experience in senior level roles
Significant experience in Employee Relations, including knowledge of legal environment, employee discipline, and conflict resolution
Significant experience in conducting and management of investigations
Demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of HR policies
Ability to design and deliver consistent metrics and reporting
Technical knowledge of HR systems
Strong writing skills
Prior global or multi-jurisdiction work experience
Strong leadership skills, including judgment, influencing, diversity and collaboration
Strong operational, controls, risk management, and execution mindset
