The Learning Advisor Sr Manager provides consultation to the business and HR leaders to drive desired business performance outcomes through impactful learning strategies. As consultants, they are engaged to assist with talent and skill development. To do this, the Learning Advisor must understand human behavior and ways to drive performance through learning activities, reinforcement and unlocking individual and team potential. This comes through various methods, such as, organizational learning, leadership development, employee onboarding, career progression, and performance remediation.

The Learning Advisor reports to the Advisory Capability Manager and partners with the Community Lead and Product Owner to ensure prioritization and alignment to business strategic priorities and outcomes.

A successful Learning Advisor is a strategic, thought leader who inspires stakeholder confidence through business acumen and L&D expertise. They are authentic, highly collaborative, and promote the 3 E’s of learning – Experience, Exposure, and Education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying strategies and solutions that are directly aligned to organizational and business goals by establishing and maintaining partnerships with key business leaders, SMEs, and vendors to identify and drive performance improvement
  • Providing management and consulting services to HR and business partners in the area of organizational effectiveness and business performance improvement through need, gap and root-cause analysis
  • Facilitates intake process of learning request to engage appropriate resources to support the learning strategy and execution
  • Collaborating with HR to develop integrated people strategy and solutions
  • Leveraging consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of training and performance impact (i.e., strategies to measure business value)
  • Serving as a conduit for L&D in Citi’s broader transformation efforts
  • Partnering with other GCB Learning team members and/or groups to ensure consistency, maximum leverage of existing programs and successful implementation and program management
  • Securing vendor relationships to design and develop learning solutions and managing the associated budget
  • Adopts and adapts to emerging skill development needs to ensure future capability requirements for their region/product/function
  • Delivering value to clients in alignment with our GCB Learning Purpose

  • University degree preferred, or relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years L&D experience (formal or informal)
  • Broad understanding of adult learning principles and performance improvement strategies
  • Significant experience leading the development and delivery of skills training programs for customer facing/servicing roles
  • Proven leadership ability, with virtual and distributed teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience/skill in communicating with senior business leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to motivate in a team oriented, collaborative environment
