The Product Manager is a senior management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain competitive position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage strategic program roadmap, development, launch, and marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product
  • Supervise day-to-day product management for core products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
  • Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
  • Develop plans and execute functional strategies for a country, multiple countries, region, or business requiring coordination and integration across units as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field
  • Drive achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans
  • Develop and communicate a business plan to approach the marketplace, and coordinate and implement team procedures, client problem resolutions and client management
  • Lead innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, and prepare agreements
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 8-10+ years of managerial experience
  • Broad and diverse function experience in marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development and analytics
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Purpose:

Working across business, operations and technology, the Product Solutions manager will be a core part of the team delivering and executing on the Middle Office and Fund Services strategic program and roadmap.

Job Background / Context:

  • Citi is driving a period of sustained change in a complex and challenging market environment.  This role entails leading one of the major initiatives in Custody and Fund Services to drive our product evolution and solve challenging client needs.
  • Our strategy is to be the best in class across the key services of Fund Administration, Middle Office, data delivery & reporting. The ethos is to leverage and configure state of the art technologies and advanced techniques to deliver the strategic data and client servicing model.  
  • The role is for a North America based Product Platform and Program developer, to lead the delivery of the future state of the strategic corporate actions product roadmap and solve for challenging platform models allowing for better servicing needs to Citi clients.

Principal Accountabilities:

  .

  • Drive program management for a key strategic initiative, while partnering within stakeholders like Operations and Technology.
  • Take ownership for delivering a consistent operating model across the various Citi regions
  • Reinforce client, prospect and consultant messaging through all channels, representing the business and portraying the strategic Citi vision and benefits of the platform
    • Industry events, RFP responses, presentations
  • Drive internal adoption of new technology and strategic solutions across the region, ensuring that internal stakeholders (Sales, Client Executives, Account Management, Operations) are educated and that internal messaging is aligned to ensure consistent external messaging
  • Produce high level strategic requirements and documentation and be integral to the translation of the need to business requirements or user stories.
  • Work with technology and business partners to plan, prioritize and escalate agreed projects and deliverables.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior internal stakeholders
  • Manage the strategic program within the allocated budgetary constraints
  • Manage 3rd party vendor with respect to priority to deliver program initiatives and builds as well as integration to Citi platforms

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Security Services eco-systems of Front, Middle and Back Office technology. 
  • Proficiency in Corporate Actions processing
  • Proven experience in delivering data and reporting projects to clients and internal stakeholders, in a technical and business environment
  • Bias to using new technologies and curiosity to drive forward new methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience delivering change in a collaborative, agile team environment as well as more standard frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work within a delivery framework
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills
  • Strong client servicing and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to establish, build and maintain strong effective working relationships at all levels across the organization
  • Demonstrated development experience using modern technology, architecture and infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well part of virtual teams to deliver on strategic outcomes
  • Deep knowledge of the Custody and Fund Services Industry

Education Qualifications

4 Year Degree preferably in a business discipline

Graduate Level (in Finance, Commerce or Equivalent Discipline) or equivalent Professional Qualification

15-20 Years relevant industry experience
