The Director of HR Communications is a key member of Citi's global Communications team within the Global Public Affairs organization. Global Public Affairs seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders. Working with leaders and partners throughout the Human Resources function, the Director will build and drive communications efforts that proactively engage colleagues on key priorities and objectives of Human Resources, including: culture, talent development, training and learning, diversity and inclusion and other major programs. The Director will work to ensure the communications of these programs are aligned to broader company objectives and enhance colleague engagement at all levels of the company. In addition, the director will work with a team of professionals and coordinate closely with communications teams within the function and across Citi’s lines of business and regions.

Responsibilities:
•    In partnership with HR leadership, develop communications strategy and tactics that enhances and drives awareness throughout the company of key HR priorities
•    Provide communications coaching to senior HR leaders, including town hall preparation and written and video messages
•    Advise and align HR leaders and partners to drive consistent messaging that has the right tone and information and is conversational and understandable 
•    Work closely with communications colleagues to ensure important HR programs and messaging are being used widely and throughout the company
•    Ensure that HR communications align to and reinforce the firm’s business objectives and its mission and value proposition
•    Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with colleagues while also leveraging primary web, video and town hall channels
•    Provide ongoing insights into data and analytics of messaging and advise on improvements and changes to strategy and tactics
•    Collaborate with vendors and agencies to drive the development of high impact communications
•    Lead a team of professionals that support HR programs and leadership
•    Develop talent and manage performance of team members to achieve a standard of excellence
•    Partner closely with function leadership to inform and advise on both ongoing HR communications work and areas of opportunity 

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in communications or other related field
•    Expert knowledge of communications and 10 years of increased responsibility for communications management, preferably internal with a large and complex organization
•    Demonstrated track record of conducting successful and proactive internal communications programs that employ creativity and use a variety of tools, forums and media
•    A leader who will implement initiatives effectively and motivate others to contribute
•    Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives
•    Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
•    A team player who will implement initiatives effectively and motivate others to carry out their work
•    Excellent organizational and project management skills
•    Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team based environment within a heavily matrixed organization
•    Strategic mindset to integrate business strategy into all communications
•    Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
