The Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO) is an enterprise authority that defines data governance strategies, drives data governance priorities, and issues an Enterprise Data Policy, Standards, and guidelines with the goal of enhancing and continuously improving the controls over creation and maintenance of data. The ECDO drives data governance discipline for the firm and fosters a culture that recognizes data as the fuel that drives our business. Description:
This is a strategic professional responsible for assisting in the creation and modification of Citi’s Data Governance Policy (CDGP) and related Data Governance Standard. The role will help drive the understanding and implementation adherence across Citi in an efficient and effective manner, assisting in the creation and monitoring of metrics to evidence adherence as required. As a Data Policy Lead Analyst, you will be expected to monitor and enforce data policy, standards, and procedures by partnering with the other members of the ECDO Risk & Control Office, Federated CDOs, Data Transformation Sponsors, etc. across the businesses and functions for data governance. You will be expected to provide subject matter expertise to Federated Chief Data Officers and their teams on key data governance concepts and their intersection with other data management capabilities (data quality, data lineage, data sourcing, etc.) within the scope of Citi’s Data Governance Policy and Standard.
Assisting in the identification of gaps in compliance you will aid, as needed, the owners responsible for putting plans in place to close the gaps. This role will also provide subject matter expertise on industry best practices across Citi.
Responsibilities:
- Consults with business end users to ensure appropriate integration of processes to meet Policy compliance.
- Applies good understanding of concepts and procedures to resolve issues.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of business collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
- Responsible for delivery of end results and contributes to formulation of processes and procedures which directly impact the Policy Team.
- Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advice.
- Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new team members
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated Data disciplines skillset
- Senior level experience in a Data related discipline (data governance, data quality, metadata management, etc.)
- Solid communication skills (written, verbal, active listening) required, ability to synthesize key messages and story tell.
- Solid relationship management skills to generate productive, and inclusive, team dynamics.
- Ability to improvise in addressing questions and issues while staying within the guardrails of policy and standards
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
