Job Description – COO, Citi Shared Services (CSS)
Citi Shared Services (CSS) has over 5,000 EWF and is aligned with Citi’s Global Functions to provide world-class, scalable finance, human resource and global services for the enterprise. The Citi Solutions Center (CSC) Network with over 98,000 EWF delivers services to Citi’s businesses and operational units. CSS is comprised of the following products and services: Finance and Risk Shared Services (FRSS), HR Shared Services (HRSS), Business and Travel Shared Services (BTSS), Citi Solution Center Network (CSC), CSS Common Capabilities (CC), CSS Strategy and Re-engineering (S&R), CSS Risk and Control.
Responsibilities:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) group will be responsible for the Common Capabilities team, including all business office activities and the Chief of Staff function, as well as the Strategy and Re-engineering team. In addition, the CAO will also develop and drive strategy, focus on operational transformation, and lead digitalization efforts for CSS on a global basis.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Management of Chief of Staff function and Common Capabilities team, delivering on key focus areas that span all products:
- Financial Management, Management Reporting and Data Analytics (including Project Management Office), Communications, and Employee Experience and Culture (including Diversity and Inclusion).
- Monitor and drive scorecard performance metrics Business Management and Organizational Strategy
- Operational Transformation
- Development and leadership of digitalization utility
- Management of strategy and reengineering initiatives in CSS, Membership Services and EO&T Straight-through-Processing (STP)
- Act as a proxy for Head of CSS with key stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Senior professional with at least 15 years of experience in operational and financial management.
- Demonstrated development, planning and execution of medium-range and long-term strategic plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the ability to bring clarity to challenging problems and to help others engage in and embrace a solution in the areas of digitization, automation, and business process reengineering.
- Strong Risk and Controls orientation and track record.
- Able to leverage strong business acumen to effectively interact with senior leaders and other stakeholders and confident in presenting a balanced view to key stakeholders and senior management.
- Demonstrated success in managing large, complex budgets/financials.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain strong and effective work relationships with business and Global Functions colleagues.
- Proven ability to conduct research/analysis, organize findings and build presentations.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Proven people development expertise, ideally with a passion for Diversity and Inclusion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - will have interaction with senior business leaders.
- Candidate is expected to be a strong team player who can work effectively in cross-organization settings and scenarios.
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to respond to changes in priorities.
- Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in multiple locations, including senior managers.
- Solid understanding of shared services industry as well as global economic, geopolitical, and everchanging regulatory environment.
- Preferred candidate will have the aspiration to run a major line organization.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
