The Controllers Transformation organization is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the future of the Finance organization. As part of Citi Finance’s transformation program, Controllers Transformation team is charged with leading Finance’s efforts to provide accurate information of the highest quality to our customers, shareholders, and regulators. The scope of the transformation is those sets of activities that begin with defining and establishing appropriate data standards and ensuring readiness for consumers, standardizing the accounting and processing of transactions to financial systems, implementing a comprehensive set of integrated financial closing processes, which then culminates with instituting common and optimized financial / regulatory reporting processes.
The Financials & Resources Lead Analyst is responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of the Controller Transformation financials in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialized knowledge to provide counsel on the evaluation of financial results and outlook.
Manage and oversee the Controller Transformation team’s staffing, working closely with the line managers and other key partners, e.g. procurement, and Finance/FP&A. This includes but is not limited to (1) obtaining approvals for new SOWs or extensions (2) monthly accruals (3) administrative process for 3P resources.
Engage with the Finance Transformation Office (FTO) and FP&A on reporting and analysis for resources.
Establish processes and practices to effectively oversee of overall Controller transformation resources beyond the Controller Transformation team.
Create financial reports and meet with finance team to clearly summarize financial trends and provide insight to senior management
Advise on directional strategy and provide guidance on significant business/product decisions
Execute analysis of actuals, of forecasts, strategic and operating plans, and create monthly outlook in partnership with the Controller Transformation seniors that reflect the execution of their transformation objectives
Prepare analytics in support of reviews with the Controller Transformation seniors of the financials aligned to the execution of transformation priorities.
Prepare presentations and analysis for the team and in support of the Controller Transformation lead.
Able to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independent judgement and autonomy.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
10+ years of relevant experience.
Experience within financial services.
Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets. Able to prepare business proposals.
Demonstrated success and interest in establishing new or transforming financial processes.
Exceptional analytical skills coupled with strong internal control skills and attention to detail.
Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment. Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instruction. Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
Ability to build networks across key partners/teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge in other applications such as PowerBI is an advantage
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
