About the Role

The Markets Group within Citi Global Wealth Investments (CGWI) provides Clients with a wide range of capital markets focused investment products such as structured notes and OTC derivatives across equities, fixed income, rates, foreign currencies, and commodities.  The LATAM Markets Sales team is responsible for curating and delivering these products within the context of portfolio construction for Investment Counselors (ICs), Private Bankers and their Clients.

The team is tasked with growing participation across asset classes and multiple product types (including structured notes, OTC derivatives, listed options, cash equities and fixed income) and serve as the Bankers and ICs first point of contact for all related inquiries and opportunities.

To achieve this goal, the team:

  • Partners with the product desks to position and deliver timely solutions and ideas around strategy views, market events, and client needs in a clear and compelling manner
  • Provides education & marketing support that goes beyond product to cover best practices for identifying opportunities, portfolio positioning, sizing, and implementation
  • Engages in client dialogues to broaden usage of capital markets solutions in portfolios and in hedging risks associated with portfolios, concentrated positions, and liabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the LATAM Markets Sales Team
  • Develop relationships with ICs and bankers and partner with regional management to grow participation in capital markets solutions across account base
  • Develop strong partnerships with the product trading desks to be aware of prevailing market trends, applicable strategies, and new trade ideas
  • Provide internal education and marketing to ICs and bankers and partner with them to understand client needs and identify salient solutions, participating in client meetings when helpful
  • Lead regional sales efforts, product launches and marketing initiatives, including creating marketing and educational content 
  • Use client and sales data analytics to help our team refine our marketing efforts, assess our progress, and identify growth opportunities
  • Demonstrate consideration for our clients’ best interests, the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, by compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience with financial markets and/or family office and/or UHNW client segments
  • In depth knowledge of derivatives and structured products and the benefits that these solutions can provide to family office and UHNW clients
  • Ability to demystify complex concepts and make them digestible to the UHNW and family office Private Bank client base
  • Proven managerial experience include leading sales or investment teams
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and listening)
  • Motivated personality and ‘team player’ attitude, with the willingness to take initiative
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines successfully, and manage multiple projects at a time   
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with comfort working with large amounts of data
  • Series 7, 66 required
  • Fluent Spanish and ideally fluent in Portuguese
