Citi Global Wealth is looking to expand it’s Capital Markets Underwriting team within the newly developed Counterparty Credit Risk CCR group supporting our Margin Lending and Capital Markets businesses.

Job Summary:

·Credit structuring and underwriting of Capital Markets (PSE) and Margin Lending credit facilities for the North America region. Underwriting will focus principally on Pre-Settlement Exposure (PSE) limits for derivatives and foreign exchange trading, as well as underwrite Brokerage and Bank Margin facilities and Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) for the North America region.

·Manage an existing team of underwriting credit specialists responsible for working closely with Capital Markets Credit Solutions in structuring and underwriting out more complex Capital Markets credit relationships

·Prepare and timely complete periodic reviews of existing assigned credit relationships.

·Collateral Monitoring – coordinate any margin call deferrals/approvals if a shortfall situation arises.

·Provide Credit expertise to the field and on general Capital Market Credit inquiries.

·Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Major Job Responsibilities:

·Coordinate with CPB US Banker teams Capital Markets, Credit Solutions and Investment Finance Transactors to the initiation and underwrite new PSE and Margin (liquid/diversified collateral) credit transactions. Manage the Private Banker teams’ expectations, set workflow schedules and priorities to ensure timely completion of credit transactions within standard turnaround timeframes.

·Conduct proper due diligence, follow standard underwriting guidelines within the framework of CPB Risk Core Credit Policies and procedures and the Global Capital Markets and Margin Lending product program (including KYC review, risk rating and collateral analysis, etc.) and complete the approval process on a timely basis.

·Participate in ISDA negotiations, prepare standard Margin loan documentation and arrange with the banker teams Credit Solutions and their clients to have ISDAs and loan documents executed.

·Provide backup for other team members.

·Ensure all assigned annual reviews are completed on schedule with minimal extensions/deferrals.

·Coach and advise banker teams on basic credit policies, procedures, and product suitability/structure.

·Partner effectively with other product specialty teams: Capital Markets Desk and documentation group, Loan Operations, Letters of Credit Dept, Trust, etc.

·Manage deal pipeline database, coordinate accurate MIS within the Program Credit team.

·Comply with all Fair Lending and other federal banking regulations, including proper notification standards and disclosure rules under ECOA/Regulation B.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

·Minimum of 6+ years of corporate middle market, consumer banking or private banking credit underwriting experience for a nationally known bank or financial institution.

·Must have thorough knowledge and experience underwriting Capital Markets (Derivative and FX) limits, and Marketable securities backed lending.

·Experience and working knowledge of ISDA documentation, as well as standard securities backed loan documentation.

·Familiar with Federal Banking Regulations, including Fair Lending regulations (ECOA, Reg O, Reg U, Reg W, etc.)

·Strong oral and written communication skills.

·Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

·Good working knowledge of systems/MIS such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, standard credit databases.

·Ability to effectively negotiate with bankers, internal peers, and occasionally external clients, as well as coordinate with outside counsel when necessary.

Education:

·Bachelor and advance degrees preferred

·Formal bank credit training is strongly preferred.

·CFA/CFP optional
