The Balance Sheet Ctrl Ld Grp Mgr is accountable for establishing and governing a consistent framework for the substantiation of the Citi Balance Sheet and related controls. The primary objectives of the Balance Sheet Substantiation process are enhanced transparency, quality and centralized management oversight of all internal and external substantiation Service Providers.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists in strengthening and providing controls by showing transparency of the Balance Sheet.

  • Assists in providing accounting guidance and support for Citi business units.

  • Directs and controls strategy and execution of the firm’s activities within a major Controller area.

  • Recommends goals, policies and plans for these areas with senior executives of the firm.

  • Partners with the specific areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, process, productivity and/or control.

  • A key member of the firm’s management team who represents the firm in dealings with clients and external organizations.

  • Has authority to negotiate and make autonomous decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company results covering multiple areas.

  • Manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers.

  • Contributes to both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, possibly on other related areas and the organization as a whole.

  • Frequent involvement in a wide range of diverse activities that require strategic vision and analysis.

  • Develops medium to long –term plans and executes functional strategies for a large complex country, cluster or countries or business requiring coordination and integration across units.

  • Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business.

  • Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of senior leaders, budget and planning.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience

Education:

  • Bachelors degree, potentially Masters degree; managerial experience
