The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Business Communication will be a key member of the Global Consumer Bank (GCB) Operations & Fraud Prevention communications team within the Global Public Affairs organization.  Global Public Affairs seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders.

Working in partnership with the business communications team, clients and support functions for GCB Operations & Fraud Prevention, the AVP will support the execution of strategic communications plans for the executive business head, the leadership team and various initiatives for the organization of more than 50,000 colleagues worldwide. The AVP will project manage several communications plans to ensure end-to-end coordination. The AVP will also be responsible for supporting the GCB Diversity and Inclusion communications, executing key deliverables as well as developing creative tactics to engage colleagues on this critical priority for the bank. 


  • Work closely across multiple teams to support the execution of leadership communications strategies that enhance culture, drive purpose and improve productivity for the organization

  • Project manage strategic communications for business-specific initiatives, including ensuring the flawless execution robust communications plans with end-to-end coordination to meet tight deadlines

  • Ensure communications align to and reinforce the firm’s business objectives, strategic priorities, culture and mission and value proposition

  • Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with colleagues while also leveraging primary channels including web, video and town halls  

  • Support the creation of metrics reports using analytics software to measure communications effectiveness


  • At least 3-5 years of communications experience, preferably at a large and complex organization, in a newsroom environment or at an agency supporting large organizations

  • Writing and editing skills to develop engaging messages, internal articles and presentations

  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines for key deliverables

  • Superior technical skills and ability to quickly learn new systems

  • A self-starter who will suggest and execute creative ways to communicate key business initiatives, efforts and launches across communication channels

  • A team player who effectively works across businesses and functions to deliver strong and effective communications

  • Light graphic design and web production 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism or other related field

  • External communications experience preferred
