Responsibilities
The US Personal Banking Finance Strategy team is responsible for driving strategic initiatives and new business development opportunities across Citi's US Personal Banking business. The group reports to the US Personal Banking LFO, offers a lean structure with the potential for significant senior management exposure and impact. Additionally, the work undertaken by the team will provide deepened industry understanding, as well as a unique view into one of the world's pre-eminent global financial institutions.
The US Personal Banking Cross-Business Initiatives Sr. Strategy Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Guide / execute / deliver fact-based analysis of our markets, competitors, and customers using internal and external resources
- Identify opportunities and issues of strategic importance to Citi, including, but not limited to growth strategy, product and segment strategies
- Influence executive decision making and drive strategic initiatives around growth, investments, capital and expense optimization across US Cards, Retail Bank, Wealth and Mortgage
- Partner with key stakeholders during the strategic planning process to define and communicate our strategy, execution plan and financial results
- Partner with FP&A, business heads and US Consumer CEO on quarterly earnings competitive review
- Support performance measurement and management ranging from strategic franchise-level development scorecards to more specific project/function metrics
- Coordinate communications with key internals (e.g. Citi Senior Executive leadership and Board) and external stakeholders (e.g. investor community, regulators)
- Coach and develop junior team members
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or another quantitative discipline
- A top-tier MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred
- Outstanding analytical and quantitative capabilities required
- 7+ years’ experience in relevant fields:
- At a major consulting firm, including 2-3 years of senior engagement management roles with client assignments in Consumer Bank, Cards, Payments and Lending industry
- In the Consumer Banking industry, including extensive experience in strategy development and execution
- In other relevant areas in financial services that requires extensive analytical skills and strategic thinking (e.g. Equity Research, Investment Banking)
- In-depth understanding of the business and financial drivers for Consumer Bank, and working knowledge of the payment ecosystem and competitive landscape
- Strong problem structuring and analytic capabilities; ability to take a complex problem and organize it in discrete pieces for solution
- Ability to size and prioritize large-scale initiatives across businesses
- Ability to work effectively with senior and middle level managers
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active-listening); ability to structure and deliver clearly articulated presentations
- Be able to drive projects and analyses in a highly matrix organization and deliver results, periodically under tight deadlines
- Growth mindset, with a strong desire to learn and succeed
