Overview:

Markets Transformation is seeking a Director who will be part of the central Price Risk program team responsible for managing execution of planned transformation to improve and enhance Price Risk management practices across First Line and Second Line functions.  This role will primarily focus on engagement with Internal Audit (IA) and quality assurance (QA) for on-time and effective delivery of issue remediation within the Price Risk program. The role will require extensive interaction with Internal Audit, collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (within Trading, Markets Risk and Control, MQA, Technology, Risk Management and Finance) and proactively manage significant risk and control remediation through partnership with Price Risk program and Markets accountable executives, remaining closely engaged with Risk & Control and ICG Transformation program management offices for consistency and to assess applicability across other ICG business lines.

The role integrates ability to establish governance/drive adoption and in-depth specialty knowledge of risks, control design/implementation and IA validation methodology, with a solid understanding of the effective partnership required across the first, second and third lines to complete remediation effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage audit engagement and remediation QA across the full lifecycle (iteratively) of key deliverables in the Price Risk program.
  • Improve IA engagement by promoting awareness and knowledge of IA methodology and acting as a key resource for issue owners to strengthen effective design/remediation and maintain sustainability.
  • Build relationships across Markets, Risk & Control and ICG Transformation (and other supporting functions) to maintain a close pulse on progress and emerging risks, understand cross dependencies/connectivity and provide meaningful credible challenge.
  • Review and drive diligence in quality and completeness of documentation supporting remediation.
  • Develop proactive measures for ongoing monitoring of remediation and pre-validation that enable early intervention, escalation and path to green.
  • Engage closely with ICG Issue Management team to ensure high risk commitments are well understood, on track and impacts and applicability across other ICG and non-ICG business lines are transparent.
  • Provide reporting and status updates on effective and timely delivery of remediation, insight on emerging risks and escalate concerns to enable connectivity to scorecards and manage element of surprise.
  • Continue to identify opportunities to add further value after the prioritized scope above has been addressed such as extending remediation framework and QA to self-validate issues identified by management and further enhancing/centralizing audit engagement.


Qualifications:

  • Experience facing off to Internal Audit (in financial services, preferably).
  • Strong understanding of audit methodology .
  • Proven ability to operate in cross functional organizations, ambiguous environments and exhibit agility in navigating from current state to proposed solutions.
  • Ability to effectively manage and build relationships and drive change .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with and influence.
  • Ability to identify relevant stakeholders, understand needs, and drive decision-making/resolution in a collaborative approach which includes vetting and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability, lateral thinking.
  • Ability to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve design and operating effectiveness of controls.
  • Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques.
  • Unquestionable integrity, ongoing commitment to excellence and ability to operate in diverse environments and cultures.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree (managerial experience preferred).
