General Description:

Reporting to the Fiduciary Services Head, the Senior Trust Manager (“STM”) is required to provide support to Fiduciary Services by researching complex risk-related issues, providing supplemental analyses and recommendations for decision / informational purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative, technical, product and client related support to Fiduciary Services officers.
  • Recognize and analyze complex legal and accounting issues, apply general legal and accounting principles to such issues and make informed decisions on how to proceed. These decisions are critical and usually affect transactions or customers and may result in profit or loss to the company, and affect the perception of clients.
  • Participate and represent Fiduciary Services in international, and lead regional discussions or projects designed to streamline operations, harmonize procedures and address risks.
  • Identifying and highlighting issues or problems that could pose a risk to the corporation of financial loss or damage to the corporation’s reputation and franchise.
  • Identification and management of regulatory, risk and AML responsibilities.
  • Ensuring that the corporation’s data base system contains accurate and up to date information.
  • Active management of the risk of error in the administration of increasingly complex and bespoke structures and more sophisticated regulatory requirements.
  • Implement data remediation commitments.
  • Enhance trust technical and operational bench strength of team.
  • Preparation and presentation of onboarding and periodic reviews of trusts and companies to ensure that they are being administered in accordance with company policies, jurisdictional and legal requirements.
  • Understanding the complexities of trust and company law and being able to recognize and analyze legal, fiduciary, risk and accounting issues, to apply relevant fiduciary, legal and accounting principles to such issues and to propose decisions or course of action to the Team Leader or Management.
  • Guide and coach junior members of the team in the day to day administration of trusts and companies.
  • Take on ad hoc / spearhead internal projects.
  • Prepare and conduct relevant training sessions on regulatory, system, operational and jurisdictional developments to internal trust and Citi Private Bank stakeholders.
  • Represent Fiduciary Services in Self Test Meetings and participate in audit prep and management.


  • Fifteen years or more experience working in Trust, Banking, Legal and Commercial related areas
  • Above average written and verbal English. Other languages in either Spanish or Portuguese will be added value 


  • A degree or professional qualification in Law, Business, Accounting and related background.


  • Experience in  Banking, Legal and Commercial related areas
  • Extensive knowledge of trust law, company law and administrative practice

Technical Skills

  • Has a sound knowledge of fundamental trust law, company law and administrative practice
  • Has a fundamental knowledge and understanding of investment instruments and credit concept
  • Has a fundamental knowledge of banking products and how they are used in the overall management and administration of wealth
  • Has a basic understanding and working knowledge of accounting concepts and their applications

Analytical Skills

  • Easily reads, understands and analyses trust and corporate documentation
  • Excellent research skills; an ability to read, analyze, interpret and apply technical concepts for the purpose of advising and/or making decisions on risk-related matters
  • Ability to determine appropriate course of action of usual transactions, occurrences and events in accordance with general legal and administrative requirements
  • Ability to identify and anticipate risks occurring in the day to day administration
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate basic investment summaries, accounting statements, banking and banking products related documentation
  • Ability to do mathematical calculations for fee calculation purposes and in determining entitlements pursuant to legal documents and trust administrative practice

Communication Skills

  • The ability to communicate verbal and written English in a concise and coherent manner with attorneys, WPs/TRMs and clients. Addressing or conveying issues, challenges, opportunities arising in the ordinary course of business
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present issues and possible solutions to the Fiduciary Council, team, colleagues to evoke appropriate response
  • Excellent relationship management skills, specifically an aptitude for diplomacy.
  • Ability to interact, cooperate and work through issues with team members, WPs/TRMs and clients.
