The individual will work in the Global Technology Strategy and Re-engineering team within the Citi Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) Function. The team is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives in support of the business strategy, creating Target Operating Models to define how cross-functionally we will operate in the future, utilizing Data insights and Lean to drive transformation and change, partnering with Technology to deliver change, and continually measuring Operations overall performance via metrics.

Specifically, the individual will be focused on the “Ops of the Future” pillar supporting key business strategic initiatives and assisting in utilizing Target Operating Model design to define the strategic state for TTS' key business and supporting services.  In this role, the individual will:

  • identify key pain points, root causes, and internal constraints through data analysis and stakeholder interviews, deriving solutions to mitigate them
  • utilize a client centric and Design Thinking approach to create personas, journey maps, etc to draw forth client sentiments and expectations
  • lead initiatives to baseline current processes, operating models, etc by conducting deep dive reviews with subject matter experts, key stakeholders, and business leaders
  • research and draw insights from peer benchmarking, industry trends and stakeholder insights
  • help design and develop best in class solutions and/or frameworks and the underlying capabilities within specific processes, products and broadly front to back including organizational design, ways of working, processes, location strategy, data & technology strategy, etc.

Collectively, this will require strong collaboration and engagement with internal partners across Operations, Technology, Product, Sales, Risk Management, and various other functions.

Specialized Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Prior consulting experience/training/way of thinking
  • an eagerness to learn the Treasury and Trade services business within Citi including the current operating models
  • be a change-agent/business analyst to effectively assess, recommend, design and implement new solutions and/or target state models
  • a self-starter with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to effectively collaborate across different levels in the organization and across functions eager to deliver impact
  • a critical thinker and problem solver, dissecting extremely complex issues into manageable components for resolution
  • an ability to drill into the details and tie those to the 50,000 foot view
  • previous experience utilizing Design Thinking and Target Operating Model design to transform processes, functions, and organizations
  • existing knowledge of Trade, Payments and Receivables, Liquidity, and Commercial cards products and service offerings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business or related fields; advanced degree is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in Transformation, preferably with prior exposure to:
    • Treasury products (e.g. Trade, Liquidity, Payments and Receivables)
    • Financial services industry
    • Consulting experience
    • Target operating model design
  • Previous management experience a plus
  • Prior consulting experience a plus
  • Lean, six sigma, or other transformation certification a plus
  • Strong quantitative and presentation skills, with attention to detail and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Highly organized and structured
  • Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Willingness to take ownership and execute on deliverables
  • Executive level communication skills
  • Ability to coach and guide other resources to effectively deliver
  • Team player with an ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, high energy environment
