Working under the broad supervision of Citi’s Director of Outside Counsel Management and direct supervision of Legal Bill Review Manager, this position will provide legal support services to Citi’s Legal Bill Review department. As a legal bill review auditor this position may deal with highly sensitive information.

Law graduate with prior experience in providing legal bill review and/or other related support service is highly preferred.


  • Analyze and audit outside law firms’ invoices against Citi’s billing guidelines and industry best practices to determine if invoice adjustments are required. The adjustments, when appropriate, are made using Citi’s Legal Matter Management and E-Billing software
  • Address and provide resolutions to invoice reduction appeals submitted by law firms
  • Coordinate and consult with law firms and Citi attorneys for necessary information and guidance for effective legal bill review and appeal resolution
  • Maintain department standard turn-around time in processing invoices
  • Communicate as needed with the system administration and invoice operations support teams to resolve any billing issues
  • Assist with data entry, data quality check and statistical analysis projects as necessary. Assist in creating reports to be issued on a regular basis to the senior management.
  • Pro-actively elevate issues to manager regarding billing, expense, staffing, rate and trending non-compliances and other issues related to legal bill review and appeals.


  • 2-5 years of legal practice, litigation support and/or legal bill review experience in a large global law firm or global corporate legal department (preferably operating in the financial service industry)
  • Practical knowledge of common legal matter progression (e.g., course of litigation, basic procedures in US and/or UK, basic corporate or financial transactions)
  • Knowledge of Uniform Task Based Management System (UTBMS) and Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) would be an added advantage
  • Prior experience using any Enterprise Legal Management (ELM) and eBilling software would be an added advantage
  • Exceptional data analytics skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft Power BI will be an added advantage)
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Good analytical and quantitative skills. Strong ability to analyze and organize data
  • Superior attention to details, excellent time management, and critical thinking skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in law is required
