To provide Foreign Exchange, Interest rate and Derivative Services to the allotted client category. Client category shall include Foreign Portfolio Investors, Local Banks, and Local Financial Institutions

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Business/ Department

Objectives:

To provide Foreign Exchange, Interest rate and Derivative Services to Foreign Portfolio Investors, Local Banks, and Local Institutions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for covering some of the top Global and Indian Institutional clients
  • Offer a full range of products/ services as appropriate with a deep understanding of rates, FX, options, and other derivative products
  • Develop a deep understanding of the different client segments and individual clients to be able to offer tailored solutions
  • Prospect for and win new clients using Citi resources (Colleagues – Local / regional, Product Partners, Research, Operational Support teams).
  • Enable new clients for dealing with the bank or enable existing clients to deal in new markets products, which could include amongst others – negotiating documentation, coordinating client Onboarding teams, liaising with relevant operations teams, laying down new business processes in consultation with different internal partners and clients.
  • Work as a key contributor to the various sales initiatives being run by the desk including identifying new opportunities in light of evolving regulatory environment and delivering against the same.
  • Champion technology projects to make processes more efficient / reduce human intervention in sales delivery process
  • Help develop cross product services (i.e. e-business, global securities, derivatives, cross border opportunities).
  • Have a thorough understanding of the regulations applicable to the client segment and business as well as keep abreast of the same as they evolve.
  • Work with high level of integrity and as per the policies prescribed by regulators and Citi – locally and globally.
  • Work with the team on all other initiatives.

    Essential enablers –
  • Work very closely with the Trading team on identifying opportunities.
  • Interface with trading and strategy to deliver differentiated macro thought leadership to our important clients.
  • Leverage the deep pool of research, and tools of Citi, to generate trade ideas.
  • Have a strong understanding of macro Economics and different products available to manage risk and execute positions, with a specific focus on India rates, FX and derivatives.
  • Develop deep engagement and trust with both clients and internal partners and be able to thrive in a highly competitive environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Attending to client requests for trade executions and resolution of queries over various medium like electronic chatrooms or telephonic calls Execution / trade capture of markets products ensuring adherence to internal credit risk/market risk guidelines Liaise with banking partner units for smooth and timely execution of client trades Ideation and generation of market commentary – working closely with Trading, Research and Strategy teams. Address ongoing client queries on market movement and news related to India. Ensure business is conducted as per Citi / Regulator policies and adhere to the credit lines/ Restrictions, product guidance laid down.

Excellent communication, problem solving & negotiation skills as well as ability to steer discussions. High enthusiasm, resilience, energy levels, drive to ideate, collaborative and ability to function effectively under pressure Excellence in execution of trades and ability to multi task while ensuring high level of accuracy/attention to detail in execution will be important Understanding of Macro Economics as well as product knowledge across FX, Rates and Derivatives Understanding of local regulations applicable to Institutional Clients Ability to create trust based relationships internally and externally Analytical skills Team player

Experience:

Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience in Markets (Sales or Trading) / sales function
