GF – Asia GCB Operations FP&A Lead ( Vice President)


  • The FP&A function is primarily responsible for providing management information and analysis to senior management in Asia. This includes performance measurement, strategic presentations, monthly business reviews and country performance reporting, annual Budget & Forecasting and significant ad-hoc analyses
  • The team interfaces closely with all businesses and functional areas in order to provide a complete perspective on franchise performance
  • The role will support the Asia Consumer Banking O&T FP&A Lead and the Operations leadership team and will be a key interface to the Country Operations teams in Asia (incl EMEA), and Operations/Finance teams in Global offices
  • This individual will support the GCB O&T FPA Lead in working closely with other areas of Finance including GCB Regional FP&A, Global Operations Finance and will support preparation for key strategic sessions in accomplishing Asia GCB Operations business results
  • The GCB Ops FP&A forms part of the overall Asia FP&A function which also comprises GCB, ICG, Global Functions, Corporate Operations and Operations and the core regional team

Job Purpose:

  • Lead Finance Planning & Analysis to support  GCB O&T Finance Lead in executing the strategy of the Consumer Business in Asia
  • Assess and drive cost efficiencies in Asia GCB Operations through leading management information, analytics and metrics
  • Drive strategic initiatives in partnership with Operations  to improve  performance and enhanced productivity
  • Be the trusted advisor to the Asia GCB O&T Finance Lead and Asia Operations Head . Drive  dialogue at all levels of the organization in order to support the achievement of key business and financial goals
  • Provide leadership and oversee Mumbai Operations FP&A CoE team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive performance assessment of Asia Consumer Operations, providing insights into the performance and drivers through financial analysis
  • Provide insights into areas of underperformance and propose corrective actions
  • Drive strategic exercises for Asia Consumer Operations , working closely with Regional Operations BP&A, Country BP&A Analysts, including preparation of strategic plans (annual budget exercise, quarterly forecast, MYF and 3-year strategic plans, etc.)
  • Drive FP&A reengineering efforts in partnership with the regional FP&A team
  • Partner with Asia Controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy of Operations charge-outs
  • Go beyond number crunching  and effectively value-add by way of meaningful analysis via key financial drivers
  • Provide  support to Consumer O&T FP&A Lead to  develop process Improvements and effectively manage  multifarious interactions , eg., Effectively collaborate with Finance and Operations communities in Asia GCB markets to ensure transparency of  Operations charge-outs

  • Excellent working knowledge of Consumer businesses
  • Prior experience of working within Planning and Analysis
  • Broad experience of working within Finance in a highly matrixed global Financial Services firm


  • Highly articulate in verbal presentations as well as written communications
  • Demonstrated strength in detailed financial analysis
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior-level executives
  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
  • Strategic mindset to integrate Operations strategy into all communications
  • Track record of success in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently


  • Strong financial accounting background with post qualification experience of 8-10 years
  • Familiarity with Financial Services Industry and/or related business products would be desirable but not essential


  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a staff of all levels across the firm

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree with a CA/CPA/MBA preferred
