The IT Project Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages technical components of moderately complex IT projects.
  • Coordinates activities of the project team, identifies necessary resources and develops schedules to meet completion deadlines.
  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
  • Verifies team adherence to control and risk implementations as well as standards and process changes.
  • Identifies scope and impact of project risks and issues; raises and resolves issues.
  • Applies good understanding of concepts and procedures within own IT project leadership area to resolve issues.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of IT project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
  • Directly impacts the IT project leadership area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and contribution to planning, budget management and formulation of procedures; influences resource planning.
  • Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Ability to manage teams. 
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years experience in an IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Technical Project Manager

In this role you will work closely with the Global Innovation LAB’s Dev teams to deliver their internal application products, making sure that these products meet all the necessary Citi’s Risk & Control standards

You will work with all the parties concerned to identify project needs, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting project milestones. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit. Successful candidates will have a strong technical IT background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance process through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement, and mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactive facilitating and improving the Technology Risk Management process, consolidating the risks per application using CAMP / Scorecard systems
  • Work with the Application Dev teams on onboarding new / manage existing Citi System Inventory (CSI) resources
  • Ensuring Technology controls are appropriate, facilitating reporting on Compliance to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the development and embedding of underpinning process and procedure documentation, including assisting service/business/process owners with compliance to new policies and operationalizing new working practices and procedures
  • Monitor and report on the performance of these processes across the LAB organization, recommending and implementing enhancements, and closing coverage gaps
  • Work with Operational Risk to highlight and track key Technology Risks, provide support as part of Entity-wide risk reviews and control gaps

Skills & Experienced Required:

  • 5+ years of IT hands-on technical experience in large companies, ideally with ITIL v4 certification
  • Good technical understanding of business drivers, IT architecture, constructs, interactions, processes and dependencies, using skills and knowledge to provide technical risk management consultancy to different functions within the Innovation LABs department
  • Practical experience of managing small project deliveries and improvement roadmaps
  • Experience of authoring process and procedure documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
