Senior Core Java Developer - Hybrid
This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work within the Equities Technology group and work closely with a front-office business unit and established technology teams to develop our strategically important platform.
The Equities business has set an ambitious growth plan, and strong technical development is critical to achieving our goals and enhancing our leading position in the financial market. The successful candidate will play a key role in that success. This is a fast paced, challenging team of highly experienced technologists and you will be expected to have strong prior front office experience.
This position involves: Requirements analysis and capture, working closely with the business users and other technology teams to define solutions, develop low latency and high frequency solution using Citi’s RTCS Platform
Knowledge/Experience:
- Around 5-8 years of experience in Microservices Framework using Core Java/Java EE technologies.
- Should have strong knowledge and hands on experience in Core Java (1.8 or above) / Spring, Spring Boot / RESTful Web Services
- Expertise in Spring and working knowledge of Spring Batch, Spring IOC, Spring Annotation, Spring Security
- Expertise in Junit/ groovy and Performance Benchmarking of solutions.
- Should possess basic Unix/Linux knowledge to be able to write and understand basic shell scripts and basic Unix commands
- Expertise in SQL and knowledge of Oracle/NoSQL-Couchbase is a plus.
- Working knowledge on Docker / Kubernetes / OpenShift is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchain – Git, BitBucket, TeamCity, Artifactory, JIRA Experience.
- Experience building applications in the financial risk domain is a plus. background is preferable but is not a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development of application in Core Java/Java EE in the Financial Risk domain
- Employ standards, frameworks and patterns while designing and developing components.
- Develop high quality code employing software engineering and testing best practices.
- Hands on coding, authoring unit tests/Junit, performance tests and maintaining code quality.
- Familiar with Agile Development Life Cycle
- Good communication skills, has experience in working on complex and medium to large projects.
- The position is based in India and will require the candidate to work with various teams globally
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support and technical business users.
- Provide ongoing support after implementation, whilst working on new enhancements and additional phases.
Qualifications:
- Significant relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
- Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
