Team/Position Overview
The Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP) is responsible for defining and executing core architecture and technology strategy for the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and works across the ICG businesses (Markets, Treasury and Trade Services, Private Bank, and Shared Services) to ensure complete strategic alignment and efficiency of execution across a diverse portfolio of engineering activities, including external Cloud Capability development, Platform Architectures, and Data Engineering.
The ICG EAP is seeking Data Ops Engineering Lead to join our team. The hire would be responsible for architecture, building data engineering components, frameworks for on-premises, cloud DB and in memory databases.
Data Ops Engineering Lead is a strategic professional who stay abreast with of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and business. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function / job family.
The role will report into Data Ops Lead of Data Engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build data engineering components catering to large scale data both on premises and cloud. This includes large scale data movement, including pipelines
- Build automated methods of orchestrating data platforms, building streaming (NRT, RT and micro batches) and ELT / ETL data pipelines. Develop scalable transformation solutions for large scale transformation
- Build CI/CD pipeline for Data Change Management and associated infrastructure. Implements data quality and integrity checks to proactively identify and fix data issues as it flows through development life cycle, build these checks into CI/CD pipeline.
- Test harness development and integration. Focus on continuous improvement and metrics driven deliverables.
- Evaluate new products suitable for data engineering
- Able to develop and articulate technical architecture and solutions as well as explain the competitive advantages of various technology alternatives to a broad audience entailing members within and outside the organization with backgrounds of being highly technical leaders to business partners with strong business and data acumen.
Experience and Skills:
- 6-10 years in hands on experience in Development as Technical Lead, Developer, Data Engineer
- Good programming skills with expertise in Java, Python, Scripting
- Expertise in building scalable Data products including Data warehouse, Messaging Platforms & Big Data Technology (Snowflake, Hadoop etc.,) Cloud PaaS (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP)
- Good expertise in building APIs, component based / Microservices based applications
- Good knowledge in CI / CD pipelines, Test Harness, Non-functional Testing Simulation
- Experienced working in Agile, Dev Ops, Test Driven Development
- Expertise in Scala and Go is a plus
- Good communication skills and interact with stakeholders at different levels
