Responsibilities
The Java Developer is responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
This role will require development using Java, EMS/Kafka, Docker, Linux and Oracle. The ideal candidate will be responsible and resourceful software professional who can comfortably work in a large development team in a globally distributed, dynamic work environment, teamwork and collaboration. The ability to work in high pressured environment is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for development the next generation Pre-Sales systems used by Citi’s GSP Sales & Traders in London, New York, and Asia focusing on voice trade areas including RFQ, Order, BWIC/OWIC, Analytics and STP for Bond, CD/CP, Loan and Derivatives in Primary and Secondary markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing our Pre-Sales tools and systems.
Production of high-quality software, emphasizing simplicity, maintainability and reuse, using standard development process;
Develop and support of production systems for GSP Sales & Traders;
Meet the requirements of providing very low latency in association with an extremely large population of each product (i.e. several thousand bonds ticking every second)
Extending the current business by leveraging the recent algorithms and models
Required Skills /Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication
Goal, Client and deadline oriented
Strong data analytics and problem solving
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
Ability to work with global distributed teams
Team player, Collaborative, Self-Motivated
Technical skills:
1+ year experience in Java, Web Services and distributed architectures
Strong UNIX/Linux scripting, file manipulation and system status monitoring
Development using JUnit
Experience of source control software such as Git
Working experience of build tools like ANT, Maven
Desirable:
Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL and performance tuning
Experienced in Spring, Docker, Spring Boot, ElasticSearch, ELK, Tibco EMS and Kafka
Good knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivative products is highly desirable
Experience in Agile Methodology
Good understanding of Test Driven
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
