Role Overview

The Investment Banking Associate is an intermediate level position responsible for providing strategic and financial advisory services in the context of mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions, including debt and equity capital markets transactions..

In providing such services, the Associate works in close coordination with the Corporate Banking and Capital Markets teams as well as other industry and product teams of Citi.


  • Key responsibilities of the Associate role include:
  • Analyzing financial data, using and developing financial models including DCF, LBO, merger models etc.
  • Executing live transactions as well support the team in the marketing activity
  • Manage and mentor analysts by providing detailed guidance and feedback, managing information flow, and providing credit and exposure information to analyst, as appropriate
  • Leverage past investment banking or related experience to enhance M&A execution and capital raising capabilities
  • Contribute to building Citi’s franchise

This role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills, including:

  • 4-5 years of investment banking experience at a recognized investment bank or financial boutique
  • Superior analytical, quantitative and financial modelling skills
  • Experience in evaluating corporate transactions and structures
  • Ability to exercise judgment, prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Team player with high integrity and self-motivation
  • Mother-tongue in Italian, fluent in English


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration Master's degree in Business Administration
