SVP, LATAM Climate Risk Lead
The Climate Risk Regional Lead is part of LATAM CRO Office team, which has oversight and provides centralized support and subject matter expertise to LATAM countries and Canada, covering multiple key internal and external requirements.
The role will help implement Citi’s Climate Risk Management Framework in LATAM, lead climate impact analysis and contribute to related disclosures and other regulatory and ESG reporting frameworks. Bilingual (Spanish) candidate preferred.
Responsibilities:
Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external parties to support the delivery of both Citi's and supervisory climate risk requirements (including scenario analysis and stress testing) across the region.
Serve as a subject matter expert for physical and transition climate risk data and analytics. Contribute to the Sustainability & ESG team’s work on strategy, research, analysis and data collection projects as needed.
Contribute to the broader Citi Climate Risk team in building out best-in-class second line climate risk management capabilities.
Survey the ESG and Climate data landscape and make recommendations on partnership opportunities, and help drive firm-wide integration efforts.
Work with Businesses, Finance, Compliance and Risk to explain and train on heightened climate risk demands.
Develop presentation materials, talking points, benchmarking and analysis on sustainability and ESG-related topics for engagement with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on climate change.
Report updates including escalations to LATAM governance meetings, such as the Risk Management Committee.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/University degree. Master's degree preferred.
Spanish Speaking preferred
8+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, sustainability/climate change, ESG, economics or credit risk-related roles.
Good familiarity with climate policy and regulatory space and voluntary frameworks and initiatives, particularly related to financial institutions
Excellent analytical skills and in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation).
Experience in strategic planning and project management.
Experience in dealing with and delivery of regulatory projects.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work with a wide range of internal partners from across the firm, including comfort in engaging senior business leaders
Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet schedules and deadlines, while delivering a practical solutions-driven approach.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, with a commanding and convincing delivery and the ability to synthesize complex concepts and translate into ‘user friendly’ language.
