Corporate Actions - Tax and Regulatory Reporting

Locations: Melbourne, Victoria Job Function: Operations - Transaction Services Employee Status: Regular Job ID: 20166873

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the Corporate Actions Announcement Capture & Processing teams in relation to Regulatory Reporting & Withholding Tax for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ensure all Regulatory and Tax Reporting obligations are complete and lodged within market deadlines. 
  • Ensure all Client tax documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Review changes to Tax Legislation to ensure Citi’s reporting obligation remain current and accurate.
  • Produce Business Requirement Documents (BRD) where system enhancements are required to support changes in the market.
  • Liaise closely with internal tax council and product team to ensure we are aware of all changes impacting our reporting responsibilities.  

Requirements for the role:

  • At least 3 years industry experience (preferably with a custodian)
  • Securities Institute Australia (SIA) qualifications preferred (not essential).
  • Experience with clearing systems i.e. CHESS, Austraclear, and Austraclear RBNZ.
  • Experience with industry messaging i.e. SWIFT.
  • Good knowledge of Australia and New Zealand Withholding Tax (WHT).
  • Basic understanding of the Service Level Agreement, deliver superior service to both external and internal clients, and an understanding of compliance issues.
  • Strong background and experience in back office dividend processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand equity markets.
