This is a new role responsible for risk management, governance, controls and oversight for UK legal entities and branches, primarily with respect to CEP UK Branch and will report into the Head of UK Legal Entity Risk Management (UK LERM). A key reason for creation of this role is to implement requirements of the enterprise risk governance framework for CEP UK Branch, to manage legal entity reporting, and the coordination of existing UK legal entity regulatory and risk initiatives.  The role will also include people management, with one direct report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on enterprise risk management activities for CEP UK Branch

  • Assist with implementation of risk frameworks and policies for CEP UK Branch

  • Assist with information requests from key Regulators, External Auditors and Internal Audit. Including timely management of any remediation efforts or corrective action plans

  • Assist with coordination of Product and PPL (permitted Product List) approvals for CEP UK Branch

  • Ensure effective oversight of Booking Model and Remote Booking Model for CEP UK Branch.

  • Assist with coordinating and delivering appropriate and timely risk reporting to Board and Management Committees and other Governance Forums, across all UK Legal Entities and Branches

  • Coordinate UK LERM team initiatives, including counterparty stress testing

  • Assist with and/or managing ad-hoc strategic projects for UK LERM

Experience and Skills:

  • Extensive years relevant enterprise risk experience in banking or consultancy with a diverse product set

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of enterprise risk management and governance processes in a significant licenced banking institution

  • Strong familiarity with regulatory landscape in the UK and EU

  • Experience in either an audit, controls or governance role would be beneficial

  • Prior experience of people management preferred


  • Post-graduate education in Economic, Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline preferred


  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written / verbal) at all organisational levels

  • Excellent teamwork and project management skills

  • Expresses complex or detailed issues simply so that others understand principals of risk issues despite complexity of models or volume of information

  • Should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation)
