Job Purpose:
Citi ICG Developer Engineering - Controls Transformations Team is seeking a technical Business Analyst to work in global sector wide Engineering Architecture area to support existing projects and contribute to a wide array of new projects ranging from designing new functionalities on a number of greenfield strategic enterprise-wide data processing systems interfacing with multiple internal partner systems to support multiple business and audit requirements.
Job Background/Context:
Developer Engineering Controls Transformations team is responsible for designing, developing and supporting technology internal audit, technology governance and technology oversight within the developer pipeline (CI/CD) area. The team is responsible for the development of strategic automated technology processes and solutions that will integrate with the new cutting-edge enterprise wide Devops platforms to provide clear data and lineage and ensuring that applications are compliant to the firm’s global policies, standards and control objectives.
We are here to ensure development teams can focus on development whilst we introduce automation and processes to solve for governance, audit and compliance and seeking to transform the way controls are governed, implemented and executed across the enterprise.
The successful candidate will have exposure to multiple technology areas across the bank and engagement with senior global enterprise technology owners within their role. This is a hands on role and best suited for a technically minded BA who has been closely involved with software development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership for delivering the development project
- Proactively identify, engage with and work alongside stakeholders across Business lines, listen to and understand their needs, work collaboratively to design inputs for proposed technology solutions, ensure quality delivery and assist with trouble shooting / resolution of application defects.
- Create and manage high quality documentation for Business and Functional Requirements including the production and analysis of data sets, flow diagrams and workflows
- Manage traceability of requirements from BRD till Test Plan / Results
- Planning, estimating, managing risks and issues, project reporting, managing stakeholders, and building strong relationships with the business
- Assist in project execution through JIRA, providing tracking to technical teams and status and milestone updates to internal and business stakeholders
- Shape the strategic architecture for the application by working closely with the development leads and by defining requirements between partner systems that are robust and aligned with the technology roadmap
- Develop best practices to be used in evaluating, selecting and implementing technologies that support our goal of transforming technology controls technology more broadly
Development Value:
This role offers the opportunity to partner with Senior Business and Technology leaders and define the next generation automated technical controls used within Citi’s enterprise DevOps tools. As the platform supports development teams across multiple technology sectors (investment banking, retail, private wealth management) the role has high visibility and individual will be considered a critical partner across the various technology and business stakeholder teams in defining the strategic solution in the technology controls area.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Significant experience as technical Business Analyst with close collaboration with technical delivery teams: technical architects, developers etc
- Experience with SDLC, Agile development methodologies and SDLC development practices and JIRA
- Experience of and participation of technology audit
- Experience working in a Banking/Financial services industry NOT required but may be beneficial
- Direct experience and participation of technology audit for your technical team’s work also beneficial
Essential Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to transform business requirements into precise functional/technical specifications
- Strong structured, logical analysis skills; ability to create business analysis from scratch, ability to troubleshoot data quality issues
- Senior Stakeholder management, particularly in defining/managing competing priorities for business requirements
- Strong team player with ability to plan and prioritise, sometimes concurrent, workloads, work as part of a team and use own initiative to achieve goals while remaining resilient in the face of pressure
- Strong academic record ideally with a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline from a top tier University.
