  • The In-Business Risk Group Manager is accountable for management of complex, critical professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a subfunction.

    Involved in medium to longer term planning of actions and resources for 1st and 2nd Line of Defense (LoD) areas. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.



    Responsibilities:

    • Develop an understanding of the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) Initiative, firmwide impacts, Program deliverables, and Regulatory Response Deliverables in accordance with Citi project management and governance standards of practice. In particular, covering both Wholesale & Counterparty Credit Risk (WLCR/CCR) workstreams

    • Develop an understanding of the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) Initiative, firmwide impacts, Program deliverables, and Regulatory Response Deliverables in accordance with Citi project management and governance standards of practice.     • Provide governance, oversight and monitoring activities in accordance with the WCR initiative and processes specified by the GPMO leads

    • Provide reporting or analyze data across key deliverables, including the identification and remediation of issues and CAPs.

    • Accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas.

    • Mange workstream independently while also leading/directing a team of professionals for adjacent workstreams.

    • Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.

    • Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity.

    • Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions.

    • Ensure that emerging risks identified are socialized with key stakeholders and mitigation strategies are in place.

    • Identify areas of engagement based on level of investment, inherent risk, complexity of change and other risk factors

    • Execute Risk Control coverage strategy, ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions are in place and escalate to senior management as appropriate

    • Provide supervision of the Risk & Control team's efforts and assist with prioritizing and addressing roadblocks encountered

    • Identify areas of engagement based on level of investment, inherent risk, complexity of change and other risk factors

    • Drive Manager's Control Assessment monitoring, quarterly approvals and improvements required

    • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in Risk and People Management

    • Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary.

    • Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and budget approval.

    • Relevant experience in working within a Front Office, Risk, Control, Compliance, Legal or Audit function.

    • Strong knowledge of CCR management and regulations.

    • Understanding of the Front Office Sales/Trading framework and operational procedures and practices

    • Understanding of the WLCR workflow and regulatory requirements

    • Ability to review and provide concise/impactful insight into meeting regulatory remediation needs

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferr

The role will require developing a deep knowledge of the key regulations and rules applicable to Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)/Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR), how they are currently captured in the WCR framework, escalating and remediating issues within each ICG business and Risk in addition to the following:

  • It will require an understanding of key regulations applicable, related risks, controls and monitoring mechanisms, along with the identification, escalation and timely remediation of program gaps/issues.
  • Global reporting and communication of project status and risks to appropriate senior business and project managers, project reviews / health checks of the book of work, will be required across all program deliverables to support execution in accordance with strict guidelines.
  • The role will need to become familiar with Citi PM Policies and Standards and ensure good program governance and execution. It will need to support the Program Director in the identifying and resolution of program risks/issues and ensure the timely delivery of program plans, resources and reporting across all ICG lines of business and wider stakeholders.
  • The candidate will be involved in analyzing, providing insight and driving execution across various projects within the program workstreams along with information to support regulatory or audit reviews when applicable and have involvement, if not lead, post program reviews for key initiatives.
