Role:

The Senior Advisor engages finance and treasury executives at our multinational corporate and eCommerce clients to advise on treasury, liquidity, working capital, financing, FX, and technology strategies in support of their business growth. The Senior Advisor also creates thought-leadership content for clients on industry direction and best practices. Finally, they provide Citi’s sales and product development teams with insights on client needs to help shape the future direction of our solutions. The role sits within the TTS Client Advisory global team.

TTS Client Advisory is the market-leading advisory team in Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions. In an increasingly digital age, we service client treasury and finance executives with frameworks to help them set strategies to support their firms’ digital transformation and growth. We provide voice-of-client insights into Citi’s product and business development teams to help shape solution innovation and development. The team works closely with Citi colleagues across Treasury and Trade Solutions, Markets and Securities Services, and Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory. The successful candidate will be an industry expert in corporate treasury and finance with direct experience gained either as a senior practitioner at a multinational corporate, or as a senior consultant in a major consultancy. Specifically, the position requires practical expertise in corporate treasury and working capital management at a global level and an excellent understanding of strategic directions in these areas. A commercial mindset is essential to help Citi determine how we grow our business as a trusted advisor to our clients. A strategic mindset is also necessary to contribute to helping shape the future direction of Citi’s solution innovations in treasury and working capital management. The role calls for a highly motivated self-starter, with excellent communication skills, able to influence and align peers and partners to execution across a large, global, matrix organization.

Experience:

Senior experience in Treasury at multinational corporate or equivalent consulting experience, with leadership roles delivering on:

  • Treasury operations, including In-House Banking, Liquidity Management, Investing, FX, and Cash Flow Forecasting
  • Corporate financing, including group funding strategy, subsidiary capitalization and funding, trade financing
  • Transformation and digitalization projects across Finance and Treasury  
  • Business collaboration to deliver treasury and banking services in support of rapidly growing businesses, especially in the digital business arena
  • Managing treasury challenges of operating in developed markets and regulated or emerging markets

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in corporate finance and treasury at large multinationals, including positions held as Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer/International Treasurer, Finance Director, or equivalent. Candidates with equivalent senior experience at major consultancies, advising client decision-makers at that level, will also be considered
  • International/global professional work experience is preferred
  • Experience in banking (corporate banking, advisory, or transaction services sales) is a plus, but not required

Education:

  • Master's degree in business, finance, economics, or quantitative subject or equivalent professional qualification in the finance and treasury field (e.g., Chartered/Certified Accountant, CFA, etc.)
  • Exceptional candidates who do not have a master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary relevant professional experience.

Languages:

  • Required native/excellent proficiency in English - oral, written, and presentational
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have strong oral and written proficiency in other language(s) widely used in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.
