ICG Risk & Control - ICG Fraud Risk Analytics and Tooling
Overview:
This new role is part of ICG Risk and Control team supporting the Head of ICG Fraud Risk Officer in defining common Fraud analytics tools for ICG and manage Fraud prevention and detection strategies.
This role will also include leveraging data to identify fraud trends, designing and implementing strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud attacks across the fraud lifecycle, including application and synthetic ID fraud, account takeover and sophisticated new attack schemes.
This role partners closely with Business and Operations FRMOs & 2nd and Third line of defense fraud functions and business partners to keep apprised of business and technology direction in order to drive effective detection and mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Define common analytics strategy and tooling requirements for ICG
- P/L Tracking
- Transformation initiatives providing Fraud prevention requirement
- Drive innovation via thought leadership maintaining end-to-end view and leveraging global cutting-edge techniques.
- Continually assess manual and automated processes to identify potential process gaps and opportunities to strengthen risk and controls.
- Establish network and followership within and outside Fraud, with proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Leads and provide subject matter expertise over projects and daily oversight for fraud detection and authentication strategies in client facing digital channels. Develop and optimize detection rules, design processes to evaluate performance and effectiveness of the detection strategies for 1st party & 3rd party fraud risks. Based on the analytic output design, modify risk mitigation strategies that can be deployed in fraud detection systems.
- Provides subject matter expertise for authentication effectiveness in developing the Independent Fraud Risk Team’s Fraud Risk Assessment applications (proprietary software).
- Facilitates project review meetings with peers and leadership teams to provide project updates outlining key deliverables, timelines and milestones, and determine prioritization of work efforts.
- Evaluate potential control enhancements that improve business controls or reduce impact to customer experience and/or operations areas.
- Provides Analytic subject matter expertise for Fraud Quality Assurance Reviews.
- Provides expertise in fraud modeling and supports other teams in technical validations for Fraud Models.
- Develops and hosts analytic trainings for the company’s fraud managers and analysts.
Qualifications & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree required in statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, or other analytical or quantitative discipline. Proven experience in fraud or risk management; experience in analytics and modeling or relevant area preferable.
- Extensive quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis.
- Extensive experience working with Big Data environment, coding within various traditional (SAS, SQL, etc.) and/or open source (i.e. Python, Impala, Hive) tools, and advanced machine learning techniques.
- Understanding of the threat landscape, as well as impacts of macroeconomic, industry, regulatory and fraud trends.
- Decisive, forward-thinking; communicates a vision that is forward looking and responsive to changes in the environment.
- Outstanding communicator: ability to effectively engage and inspire small and large audiences for collaboration and innovative changes.
- Industry knowledge of Banking payments and products a plus.
