Team background

Transaction and Processing Risk (TPR) is a new function responsible for providing business-wide leadership in proactively developing and implementing enhancements and frameworks to control, monitor and enhance post trade processes to ensure they operate within risk appetite. 

The risk & control team establishes and maintains a robust 1st Line of Defense control environment and culture to minimize operational risk within the Markets business. Responsibilities include implementing and overseeing the Markets control framework, leading critical control remediation projects, facilitating controls and conduct governance, interacting with regulators, Internal Audit and Compliance, delivering business analytics and reporting, monitoring and analyzing key risk and control indicators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting colleagues across Citi in developing and maturing the FMI Control framework

  • Successfully contribute to the delivery of the FMI framework roadmap within global Markets.

  • This role will lead and support the end-to-end design, implementation, and oversee execution of Alternate Control Framework related Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) policies, standards, and related controls and processes within Global Markets.

  • Develops and maintains relationships across the business and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment.

  • Supports Framework & Governance development by assessing risk Policy, and Issue Management (KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans).

  • Support the development of global Governance committees and forums and build ongoing relationships with First and Second Line colleagues.

  • Support the Third-Party Risk management’s responses to internal audit, and / or regulatory exams.

  • Support in the quarterly & annual risk assessments.

  • Monitors Indicator triggers and thresholds and the analysis of Markets metrics related to FMI.

  • Liaises with ICG & control partners on breaches and action steps towards remediating the breaches

  • Contribute to Citi’s approach to designing for “failure”, such that Citi is able to act in an agile and adaptable manner, to prevent, respond recover and learn from operational disruption events, in a way that clients want to do more business with Citi, and develop deeper trust in us.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred

  • Extensive experience ideally in capital markets and relevant Financial Market Infrastructure background

  • Strong track record in and business analysis, delivering complex solutions

  • Strong organizational leadership and influencing skills

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment

  • Highly motivated, strong business analysis, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Possess a strong knowledge of control design and metrics

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive.

  • Keen sense of urgency and eagerness for ownership

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio.

  • Works well under pressure and in tight deadlines
