The Senior Business Unit Group Manager is a senior-level position responsible for various risk, control and administrative activities of a business. These tasks include assisting with implementing risk and control initiatives such as FX Consent Order, booking model and preventative controls, data quality, valuations, managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Manager may also coordinate and manage activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Due to enhanced regulatory scrutiny for UK based legal vehicles, the regional manager also has oversight and responsibility for ensuring legal vehicle controls are in place to support the Senior Manager’s regime. The Global Head of Commodities is a Senior Manager and the EMEA and APAC Business Manager Lead is his Remote Booking Officer for Global Commodities as required under the Markets and Securities Services UK Legal Entity Overseas Booking Policy as well as the lead to ensure the Senior Manager Regime is well implemented and managed across Commodities.

As the EMEA and APAC regional lead for Commodities this role participates in various management committees that cross the business as well as the support functions. These management committees include amongst other regular Sales and Structuring management and pipeline meetings and Commodities Management meetings, as well as governance forums with the Support functions including PAA Functional working group, Price verification meetings, and Monthly Business Reviews organized by the different functions with Commodities Management

In addition to Commodities management functions, this role coordinates with regional senior management/peers in the Markets organization in EMEA and APAC. 

The regional lead must ensure consistency in coverage across the Commodities business by becoming familiar with global processes and creating a strong link with NAM counterparts. The regional lead needs to be able to perform triage in terms of items that are escalated to the business in the coverage region and ensure a proper prioritization takes place for management attention and available support resources.



Responsibilities:

  • •Identify and Implement Control enhancements

    •Provide leadership and promote business ties with internal and external senior leaders/clients across key businesses, regions and support functions

    •Interact with Internal Audit, Compliance Assurance and Regulators as required as part of ongoing reviews

    •Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

    •Engage in cost management activities, such as validating spending and cost saving initiatives, monitoring savings initiatives and expenses, as well as monitoring consistency between financial information, productivity information and HR reports

    •Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives and lead creation of direct expense plans in partnership with internal functions and teams

Qualifications:

  • •15+ years of relevant experience

    •Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology, Commodities experience is preferred

    •Demonstrated ability to manage a team and/or complex projects and processes

    •Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments

    •Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication

    •Proven strategic planning and presentation skills

    •Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships

    •Proven ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
