In this role, you’re expected to:

Serves as a key risk manager for Investment Products Risk (IPR) within Global Risk Management responsible for managing the risks associated with the manufacture, sale, and distribution of investment products and services to individual investors. Performing both quantitative and qualitative analysis on new and existing products as well as building strong relationships with his/her business counterparts so as to become an integral part of that business' ongoing operation and management.

• Assisting in organizing and analyzing intelligence on the positioning and activity within the aggregated portfolio of Citi clients across businesses in order to identify potential investment product risk issues.

• Contributes to the evaluation of investment products and services, understanding the investment thesis of a product and the key drivers and risks that may affect its performance, in order to arrive at a conclusion regarding its overall riskiness that will be used to facilitate judgments regarding product suitability across Citi businesses.

• Reviews a product's offering and sales materials, ensuring accurate and complete representation of a product's risks, terms, and conditions. Works with counterparts in product management, legal, and compliance to affect revisions, where necessary.

• Develops ongoing reporting requirements related to his/her covered businesses and evaluate these reports, escalating issues to the Senior Risk Manager.

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.

• Relevant experience of retail investment products and services, including: alternative investments (i.e. hedge funds, private equity/real estate), portfolio construction methodologies, and the broader capital markets (e.g., structured notes, fixed income instruments).

• Ability to work effectively in a team setting; demonstrated ability to manage and influence divergent views across a complex organization in the absence of direct authority.

• Ability to maintain and build relationships and organizational skills including sophisticated communication and relationship management skills.

• Expert analytical and writing skills with the ability to drive tasks through to completion, with periodic guidance

• Flexibility in thought and approach; able to introduce creative solutions and enact reasonable judgment for complex issues that have no ‘right’ answer.
