The Mortgage Operations Manager role is critical leadership role within the Citi Private Bank residential real estate business who is responsible for managing day to day Operations staff as well and ensuring full compliance to Citi processes and mortgage regulations. Role will also involve regular interaction with compliance, risk and audit teams and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of staff and has direct accountability for critical processes including processes with regulatory and control impact
  • Works closely with upper management to define strategic roadmaps and drives execution
  • Proactive daily oversight and management of team capacity and load/pipeline re-balancing
  • Drive proactive closure and follow ups for CAPs and all compliance matters
  • Own / Drive follow ups for Compliance and Audit deliverables
  • Identify and drive the closure of all Operational Issues 
  • Ensure staff are fully trained and competent in their roles and that they have the requisite management supervision on a daily basis; Ensure all staff are following policies and procedures and complying with all regulations and processes
  • Drive process improvements to improve the client experience (internal and external)
  • Increase team productivity including reducing processing turnaround times
  • Daily sign off on regulatory compliance items (daily “all clear” emails)
  • Help drive the implementation of a new loan origination system
  • Own and Drive Ops loss reporting
  • Ad hoc requests as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years relevant mortgage closing experience, at least 5 consecutive years of Mortgage Operations Management/supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Mortgage industry and associated regulations and processes, particularly as it related to the closing process
  • Proven experience working with auditors and compliance teams
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional client focused mindset
  • Strong process mindset and focus on process improvements

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
