VP, Retail Banking Risk Policy Officer - Hybrid
The VP, Retail Banking Risk Policy Officer is a senior-level position responsible for leading activities, including credit policy review, credit approvals and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's Banking portfolio exposure to client and counterparties globally.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the managing the Banking product portfolio, assisted by the Deposit Risk Policy team, and reporting to Deposit Risk Policy Head
- Manage Risk policy for Banking Products, focusing on Provisional Credit, Funds Availability, and Overdrafts; working as a group within Portfolio Policy Department to develop risk appetite framework for the respective product
- Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, sampling, forecasting and new program due diligence
- Department to set risk appetite for the respective product
- Partner with risk/ops counterparts and the and business to manage portfolio to achieve plan numbers and product sustainability
- Work together with risk/ops counterparts and the and business to ensure correct policy implementation on an operational level
- Interact with regional counterparts for policy approval and adherence to Global/Regional Policy requirement
- Provide analytics on portfolio level and segment level for the purpose of monitoring & policy adjustment with the ultimate goal of managing risk and maximizing rewards
- Work together with the Risk MIS team, in charge of Credit Risk Reporting and Portfolio Quality Review Reporting, as well as facilitate ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in Banking risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry
- Proven ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and prioritize
- Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
