Responsibilities
The NAM Smart Automation Apps Development Group Manager will drive automation strategy and digital product delivery across NAM GCB. This position manage a team of program leaders and project analyst responsible for delivering digital solutions and automation of preventive and detective controls across all Consumer businesses and functions. This is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department. This position is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication will be necessary with 3rd parties. Accountable for the end results of an area. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of automation capabilities and digital solutions in alignment with Citi operations support infrastructure and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Drive digital and automation strategy and delivery across multiple products and functions
- Oversee, design, and evaluate automation capabilities to strengthen controls, drive process efficiencies, improve customer experience, and reduce operational losses
- Manage the planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day program activities
- Collaborate with business and tech partners (PBWM Tech and CTI) to drive operational automation strategy and capabilities
- Develop and coach a high performing team of automation designers
- Translate business processes into effective automation requirements
- Champion and lead data transformation efforts to streamline automation routines
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of management (Business and Technology)
- Escalates program risks to the Program Sponsor when appropriate
- Makes recommendations for training and development needs for assigned personnel
- Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotions, terminations, and other personnel actions.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant Operations and/or Technology experience in finance/banking with strong understanding of core businesses and operational processes
- Experience with Automation Capabilities and/or Digital Product Delivery
- Experience with LCNC (Low-Code / No-Code) capabilities e.g. Xceptor, Appian, Power Apps, etc. a plus
- Knowledge of technology systems and/or programming, including Python. Other languages such as C#, JScript, Ajax are a plus.
- Process Mining and/or Workflow Design a plus
- Experience with application architecture, agile delivery, technical delivery lead a plus
- Strong project and people management experience
- Knowledge of risk and control disciplines
- Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
- Detail oriented problem-solver with a commitment to quality and serving our clients
- Project Management certifications and/or experience with Process Reengineering, Six Sigma, LEAN is a plus

- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
