SVP, Model Analysis Validation Group Sr. Manager, Spot RWA - PBWM, Hybrid
The Model/Anlys/Valid Group Mgr is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
· Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data quality reviews and monitoring dashboards on data elements used for spot RWA calculations, both for standardized and advanced approaches
- Review and understand the RWA process flow, to know how data from source systems is being interpreted and used for correct application
- Document and maintain governance and controls for segmentation assignment and retail/wholesale classification
- Fulfil front-line unit responsibilities as articulated in the Capital Management Engagement Model; support RWA attestation process
- Managing issues and corrective actions related to RWA where Front-Line Unit managers are responsible
- Identity and oversee execution of key controls for incorporation into Activities, Risks, Controls and Monitoring (“ARCMs”) and Managers Control Assessment (“MCA”)
- Partners with Risk and Finance organizations to understand the source of new data and continue to improve the process of defining, extracting and utilizing the new data as it relates to Front-Line units
- Interacts with senior levels of management to facilitate understanding of usage of data and controls and inform critical decisions.
- Provide leadership and guidance for junior team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience
- Sound knowledge of the Basel III Accord, familiarity with Basel IV, and the applicable laws and regulations of Risk weighted Assets and Capital Management
- Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights from data and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis.
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence executive audiences.
- Excellent oral and written communicator; ability to engage and inspire team forward.
- Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder management; effectively engage with Front-line units, Finance, Risk and Internal audit
- Takes personal responsibility to lead by example
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
