Who we are
We are Financial Risk Technology, a Markets Technology team in the Institutional Client Group (ICG). We are a group of committed individuals who take pride in providing best-in-class software solutions for Risk management functions across the front office and back office.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Senior Java/J2EE and Cloud-based Microservices Developer to build enterprise level Risk Management systems. This lead role is for critical thinkers who like to build high-grade solutions. These motivated individuals are driven by challenging problems and thrive in a collaborative environment. They take a goal-oriented approach to problem solving and seek to exceed client expectations.
What will you do
- Design & develop scalable micro-services to build an Early Warning System that will support Risk Management functions
- Partner with the product management team and other stakeholders in brainstorming sessions to identify solutions
- Work in collaboration with the global team members to implement solutions as per agreed specification
- Enhance and modify logical and physical data models
- Establish system benchmarks, diagnose bottlenecks, and tune application performance
- Practice a test driven development approach and Agile methodologies to produce high quality and sustainable software solutions
- Enforce software development best practices and provide mentorship on domain modelling, code quality, code reviews, and testing
- Establish a healthy balance between software development and investing in our staff through training, mentoring, and hiring
- Manage project risks and report status to concerned stakeholders in timely manner
What skills you will need
- 5-8Yrs years of overall development / technical expertise.
- Hands on experience designing and developing software applications, executing code reviews, and unit testing using Core Java, J2EE, Spring and software design patterns
- Expertise in building infrastructure and troubleshootingdistributed computing preferably in AWS cloud environment
- In depth understanding and experience in Kubernetes based Container Platform such as Openshift or equivalent
- Understanding and experience with SDLC tools & CI/CD pipelines: Team City, Jenkins, SONAR, Maven, Gradle
- Experience in Apache Kafka will be a plus
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a global team
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field and four years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or a closely related position.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in specified fields and two years of specified experience
