The attorney in this role will provide legal support for the US Consumer Marketing Team for the branded cards business.  The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice and guidance across a broad range of practice areas that relate to the marketing of credit cards, including the acquisition of new credit card accounts and marketing to existing credit card customers.


  • Provide legal support for day to day operations of US Consumer Marketing Teams for the U.S. branded cards business.
  • Review marketing creative for credit card businesses and advise on advertising issues;
  • Advise on issues relating to applicable bank regs and other guidance from regulators;
  • Coordinate advice not only within the Advertising & Marketing legal team but also with product legal and other legal colleagues
  • Work with the business, legal and functional colleagues to proactively identify and manage legal, regulatory, reputational and other relevant risks


  • A Juris Doctorate degree.
  • A license in good standing to practice law in at least one state
  • At least 4 + years relevant legal experience
  • Banking/financial industry experience or experience from big law firm preferred
  • Experience with the FTC’s Truth in Advertising Guidance, UDAAP associated issues, advertising requirements for unsecured lending products (including Regulation Z, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act/ Regulation B, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA)
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven analytical and organizational skills
