The Program Management Risk Oversight Group (“PMRO” or “the Group”) is a second line of defense function within Citi’s Operational Risk Management function. This is an opportunity to get in at the start of a journey as we build and define the project execution risk operating model and team, as well as plan and execute the team’s tactical and strategic roadmaps. The Team operates at the enterprise level of Citi, across its numerous legal entities and geographies, serving as a key advisor in the domain of program management risk. Two of our partners you will be working with include the Office of the Chief Administrative Office, and Citi’s Program Management Council.
Job Description:
The PMRO Group is seeking an Associate to join a growing team. The Associate will be a partner to the team’s SVP and Vice President in assisting with building and operationalizing the Group’s Risk Analytics and Reporting function.
The candidate we seek has experience in Program Management and Program/Project Risk. They will understand program and project management principles, including a successful track record of collecting, cleansing, and analyzing data visualize KPIs and KRIs. It is expected that the candidate will directly support the PMO and Reporting Senior Vice President and Vice President in their efforts to effectively manage the PMRO’s book of work as well as all data and reporting needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Associate within the Risk Analytics and Reporting workstream of the PMRO will help build all PMRO-related reporting, supervise all PM Risk Oversight statuses, and assist with the effective challenge of first line as it relates to data and reporting. Additionally, the Risk Analytics and Reporting Team will serve as a supporting function to all other PMRO Teams. More specifically, the Associate is expected to:
- Assist with the development of a best-in-class program management risk oversight function, focusing on the development of reporting solutions targeted towards PMO risk
- Assist in the development and refinement of key risk indicators (KRIs) including requirements gathering, data mapping, and logic definition
- Partner with technology and data & analytics teams to execute on PMRO reporting goals
- Help mature PMRO’s toolset, including templates, vendor reporting software, in-house reports, etc.
- Assist creation and delivery of PMRO’s ongoing, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reporting needs
- Work with the Director and VP to manage the PMRO’s book of work to ensure the team meets all deadlines across various assessments
- Help create the PMRO’s status reports
- Keep informed of changing regulatory expectations that may impact project governance or project execution risk
- Assist with the other PMRO functions’ assessments, helping the Director and VP provide effective second line challenge as it pertains to data capture and reporting improvements across frameworks, organizational PMOs, initiatives, programs, and projects
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for Citi's reputation, and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, and escalating, managing, and reporting controlling issues with transparency
Qualifications:
- Interest in and/or general understanding of how operational risk is measured and managed
- 1-3 years of experience performing data analysis, data mapping and capturing data requirements
- 1-3 years of experience developing reports and business intelligence solutions
- Prior experience with reporting and business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or related preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend logical data models
- 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry
- Understanding of generally accepted project management practices and frameworks
- Outstanding communication skills
- Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment
