Financial Accounting Analyst, AVP - Irving, TX

Citi Retail Services (CRS) Accounting is a part of the North America Controller's department and provides accounting, control, and reporting for the Retail Services organization. Major partner relationships include Macy's, Sears, The Home Depot, Best Buy, ExxonMobil, Shell, and numerous other smaller portfolios.

The NA Controllers organization is part of the Global Function unit within Citi and includes Internal Audit, Compliance, Control & Emerging Risk, AML, Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS), Finance, Strategy, M&A, Investor Relations, Global Public Affairs, Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, Global Community Development and Microfinance. These functions provide critical support to the Citi business units.

Finance Acctg Sr. Analyst will report to the Financial Accounting Manager for THD, Sears and LLB portfolio activities within CRS. This team is responsible for financial reporting, partnership reporting and control matters for the Fuels portfolio with in CRS.  The individual in this role will work closely with others in the North America Controller's Organization, the Business, and CFO's, and internal and external auditors on matters related to financial reporting.

Process of general accounting functions for partner portfolios within the Retail Services to include:

  • Calculation of GL entries for monthly revenue share, various business accruals, 
  • Participate in monthly income statement reviews during month end close process; assist in researching differences
  • Balance sheet variance analysis throughout close process
  • Preparation of monthly partner settlement documents and revenue share calculations.
  • Coordinate and hold monthly Partner meetings with the Business and Citi Senior Management team to go over monthly results to include revenue share calculations and variance explanations
  • Maintain strong and well documented internal desktop procedures to include SOX compliance and control self-assessments
  • Assist in supporting internal and external audit exams
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the partner contractual obligations
  • Maintain strong interactive relationship with business, FP&A team and settlement team on partner deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) / Master in business administration (MBA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent combination of education
  • 5-8 years of experience in accounting management with commensurate stakeholder management experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
