Job Summary

The Citi Security and Investigative Services (CSIS) eDiscovery Specialist Lead Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with Citi stakeholders in providing consultative services.  The eDiscovery Specialist will work in partnership with investigators and mitigate risks to Citi by applying eDiscovery and investigative best practices to help organize, analyze, and interpret data and provide actionable information to decision makers.  The eDiscovery Specialist Lead Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for both Nuix and Relativity, as well as RelativityOne for advance fact-finding methods by developing best practices and eDiscovery strategies.  They will use their expertise to develop high-quality training resources and activities addressing product knowledge and team procedures.

Business Description

CSIS is a full-service security and investigative team that protects the assets, integrity, and reputation of Citi and its clients. We accomplish this by offering in-house professional security services and independent investigations to stakeholders across all of Citi's businesses and regions, and through partnerships with other Citi business groups, law enforcement agencies, governments, and industry counterparts.

Global Intelligence and Analysis (GIA) is a strategic intelligence and analytic unit within CSIS providing business analytics, threat intelligence, and open-source intelligence products to Citi executives, CSIS leadership, and key stakeholders. We operate an all-source analytical unit to understand emerging threats in the banking/financial industry, risk trends for the company, and opportunities to improve or adapt business practices. GIA is globally dispersed with analysts in the US, Mexico, Singapore, India, and Hungary leveraging a follow-the-sun model to meet our clients’ needs.

Job Purpose

The Investigative Support Team (IST) is a part of the Global Intelligence and Analysis (GIA) program and is designed to provide eDiscovery services to CSIS investigations. The program offers highly specialized structured and unstructured tools and techniques to facilitate as well as augment investigative capabilities.  IST optimizes the investigative process by using a managed and consultative approach by leveraging tools such as Nuix and Relativity to streamline the investigative process.  IST team is located globally across North America, Mexico, Singapore, and Budapest.

Key Responsibilities / Role Description

The CSIS eDiscovery Specialist Lead Analyst will report to the IST Global Program Manager. This role will be responsible for conducting strategic business analysis and optimization of eDiscovery and investigative processes within CSIS. The eDiscovery Specialist Lead Analyst will work with stakeholders across multiple regions and execute custom data analytical strategies in support of CSIS and Citi investigative functional areas.

  • Proactively assesses the business needs for high profile and complex investigations matters by presenting strategic eDiscovery plans and outlining key data analytical tactics in various reporting and collaborative formats.
  • Provide case consultation on eDiscovery services. Educate existing and program teams on Nuix and Relativity offerings and solutions.
  • Detect eDiscovery data trends and relationships in electronic communications and other data sources collected during an investigation.  Recommend data solutions and alternative analytical eDiscovery techniques to target critical case evidence.
  • Help CSIS investigators design efficient, integrated workflows using Nuix and Relativity products.
  • Display critical thinking in the creation of succinct narrative reports, presentations, or similar plans to report analytical assessments.
  • Display data and the results of analysis in clear straightforward business report that can be understood by non-technical readers.
  • Provide written explanations of approach and analysis in plain language that supports the conclusions and observations.

Change Management Advocate - Innovate and generate new ideas, concepts, and models to improve investigative methods.  Identify relationships and trends in data across cases, as well as any factors that could affect identification of key case artifacts. Question and validate assumptions and status quo.


  • Four-year college degree or post graduate degree.


  • 6-10+ years experience with serving as a consultant on eDiscovery workflows and targeting data using various data analytical techniques. 
  • 6-10+ years of hands-on experience using various eDiscovery software and productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency with Relativity, RelativityOne, and NUIX eDiscovery/document review platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple time-zones (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, multi-task environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Learn and maintain expert knowledge of eDiscovery solutions and workflows.
