Responsibilities
Consent Order Finance & Governance Lead (CGW- Transformation) – C13
The Consent Order Finance & Governance Lead of the Transformation team is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Applies in-depth understanding of the business or operational processes to manage a Consent Order program area specifically related to dependency on Financial transactions, Finance and Reporting processes . Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the review of the daily project plans and key milestones.
- Escalate potential issues identified in working group sessions.
- Active leadership and representation of CO working group sessions, strategy planning and various reviews sessions to identify and facilitate remediation of detailed action plans and commitments to Consent Order targets.
- Participate in cross-functional working groups among Data, Risk , Process and Governance standardization for key reporting functions including Books & Records, Reporting and Data.
- Coordinate with members of the various Reporting Operations functions to identify ways to streamline and implement action plans in order to create more accurate and timely results, as well as improving efficiency.
- Maintain constant dialog with GPSM, Reporting Operations and Project Management to highlight issues with the overall Consent Order action plans.
- Understand the implications of the changes proposed by Consent Order working group and capture the impact of same for communication with Reporting Operations.
- Interface with corporate functional leads for operational execution and interaction/ engagement resulting from proposed changes to Target Operating Model.
- Be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive approach to all control programs and developing a sound and robust control environment.
Skills
- Deep knowledge of principles, practices and theories of Financial Processes including accounting and comfortable with financial systems and GL tools
- Outstanding record of project management success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology
- Pro-active in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk
- Strong knowledge of existing Finance systems within Citi
- Strong and current awareness of external trends and best practices
- Comfortable handling volumes of data
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in similar roles with complete understanding of Financial Reporting Processes, Data and Platforms
- Professional qualifications in accounting (such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is a plus
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with a wide range of people across different functions and levels of seniority. Analytical skills are a must. Ability to manage and lead a team. Be able to work independently
- Able to work effectively and efficiently toward goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple and changing demands
- Self-starter who proactively seeks to improve existing controls and streamline processes both from a tactical short term viewpoint, and also from a strategic long term perspective
- Bachelor’s/University degree, or Master’s degree preferred
