Be a part of the work we do to enable progress around the globe:

For the past 200 years at Citi, we have a drive to help clients move from ambition to achievement. Our company has been one of the foundational components of today’s modern financial infrastructure—this gives us a level of unmatched expertise in tackling the world’s most complex challenges and connecting across capabilities to enable lasting progress for our clients.

Citi’s Commercial Bank (“CCB”) aims to be the leading global financing and banking partner for mid-sized companies that source product from or sell goods and services to growing markets in the world. We provide actionable insights and ideas to help clients capitalize on opportunities and tackle their challenges. Our award-winning sophisticated solutions help our clients achieve results. We help connect local companies to global markets and provide local expertise backed by a global network. Our Commercial Banking division works with businesses with annual sales ranging from $10 million to more than $3 billion. The Associate Program strives to bring in the best and brightest, and to develop the next generation of commercial banking leaders globally.

You’re the brains behind our work:

You’re ready to leverage your previous experience to take your career to the next level, and Citi wants to help you get there. Our Associate Program will equip you with the knowledge, training, mentorship, and network you need to grow your career and gain a deeper understanding of the financial services industry. As an Associate in the Commercial Bank, your role would be to find ways for our clients to maximize their growth while taking full advantage of Citi’s banking products. This means knowing all about our deposit and lending, as well as our cash management, trade, FX and capital markets solutions. You can expect to gain an intimate knowledge of role of your team in serving clients, but will also have exposure to senior leadership across the Commercial Bank and the Institutional Clients Group as you begin to consider your future career growth and trajectory. The high value Citi places on internal mobility creates an environment where you will be able to take risks by exploring new roles and bringing a fresh perspective to different areas of the bank. Citi recognizes that our junior talent is one of our strongest assets, and anticipates that Associates participating in the Program will be the future leaders of the Commercial Bank.

We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed:

The Associate Program starts in January and begins with an in-depth training program that includes in- resident Commercial Credit College. We combine formal training with hands-on experience and pair it with interactive learning sessions with senior leadership in the Commercial Bank so that you will gain the tools you need and then learn about different ways that our bankers apply them. After introductory training, the learning journey continues with ongoing sales, product, technical, leadership, and professional skills training throughout the Program. Associates can expect numerous opportunities to connect and form bonds with senior leadership, including dedicated senior mentors. Citi will also provide Associates with a Program Manager to advocate on their behalf, ensuring a positive experience and representing the classes’ interests to key decision makers. The Commercial Bank supports a “Promote When Ready” process; Associates who successfully complete the Program, meeting Program requirements and receiving a positive recommendation from their managers, will be eligible for promotion to Vice President.

WithintheCitiCommercial Bank, there are several paths available for Associates to consider. Applications are team-agnostic, but offers will be segment-specific for one of the below teams based on interview performance, team fit, and open roles:

We provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed:

  • Relationship Managers serve as trusted advisors and thought partners for our clients, seeking to build deep, lasting relationships by leveraging Citi’s global network to deliver best-in-class solutions and help them grow, especially internationally. • The CCB is a client-centric team organized into coverage teams based on industry and client size. Our current industry teams cover Technology, Media and Telecom; Healthcare; Industrials; Services, Consumer and Retail; Not-For-Profit, and Energy and Clean Energy Transition.  Within these industries, we have teams that focus on clients with sales below $100MM, between $100MM and $1B and between $1B and $3B.  During your time in this program you will obtain the product and credit skills necessary to become a Relationship Manager at Citi and gain exposure and experience working with other Citi employees in other parts of the Institutional Client Group and in the many countries where we serve our clients.

We want to hear from you if:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree and potentially an MBA
